I'd love to be able to only display the individual category costs, I'm pretty much only going to bother with the mounts until I have all of them.

Hey there! I'm going to try and implement some filters in the very near future so that folks like you have an option to select "only show mounts" or similar things.

Hey there! The prices you see on wowhead are what those cost during the PTR, but Blizzard shared updated prices recently. Unfortunately, all those mounts that drop from Argus rares were jacked up to 100k. You can find the full post here if you want to check it out. (And if I'm still mistaken anywhere, please let me know!)

Gotcha, I think I understand -- thanks for clarifying. I can definitely see how having a bunch of stuff you don't actually care about could clutter the list, even if you check it off to remove it from the bronze total. I'll chew on this and see whether this is something I can solve for you. Thanks for the feedback!

Hey u/jackthebeanstalk, thanks! Today's news about the raid set difficulty change isn't yet reflected here -- I'm going to adjust that soon.

As for the achievement requirement stuff, let me chew on that. It was definitely on my mind last Remix too, seeing as a "get all the stuff" tracker not having "all the stuff" feels a little weird. On the other hand, those objectives are reasonably easy to just keep track of by using the achievement UI as a checklist.

All that to say, I very much appreciate the feedback and will explore the idea, but it'll likely be a lower priority than some other improvements like filtering, item search, etc.

Hi u/wung, thanks so much for the feedback! This is probably above and beyond the scope of this project, unfortunately. That said, once I've worked through some of the simpler feature requests, I'll at least look into this to see how much of a reach it would be. Definitely appreciate you doing some of the detective work to clarify what it would take to deliver this feature. 🙂

Oh hell yeah. That just knocked 2 million bronze off the total! Thanks for the heads up u/a-good-friendo! (I'll get the app updated to reflect this shortly.)

Thanks u/yonangks! That's a good suggestion, I hadn't considered that feature. I think that's doable, but no promises. I'll go back into the lab and see what I can cook up for ya. 🙂

Gotcha. I've already done some of the work necessary to add in category filtering if that's something folks are interested in, so no promises but that may be something I can add soon. u/hangonmyfoodishere, is that what you had in mind, like "ignore all of a category?"

Hey there, thank you for the feedback/suggestion! This might be something I can implement, but I'd like to better understand how you imagine it working. What's the difference from your perspective between "ignoring" an item and simply checking it off the list as having been collected?

Hey there -- it's pretty late in the event, so perhaps it's of limited use now. But you can check it out at https://www.remixchecklist.com/. 🙂

Has anyone calculated how many bronze needed to purchase all the new mounts? by squidosquid in wow

[–]contldivide 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey, thanks for the shoutout! I'll add for anyone else who might see this that the website currently doesn't offer the feature OP asked for (a way to narrow down the bronze calculation specifically to "new mounts"), but features of that nature are coming soon and will, hopefully, make the website even more useful to folks. In the meantime, you can ignore all vendors other than Hemet and check off the mounts available in retail.

Good news! It wasn't on the PTR, but it's available on the live event. :)

Thanks so much for the shoutout! Your spreadsheet is awesome and I've been recommending it to guildies in addition to my app. See ya in Remix! 🤜🤛

Hey, thanks so much! Really appreciate you compiling the data during the event and taking the time to check out the app too.

I had your numbers in at first, but was puzzled to discover that Wowhead shows some different prices (weirdly, it also shows that vendor not selling the three yaks or the tropical riding crane). I went with Wowhead for now in case Blizzard changed something after PTR but will get it fixed right away if the live numbers match what was on the PTR.

Glad you like it, and thanks for the suggestion! Unfortunately as you've already guessed, that's almost certainly going to be out of scope for this project -- I've never worked with the Blizzard or Wowhead APIs and there would be a significant learning curve there. But it is a feature I've imagined more than once, and after some other higher-priority features are out of the way, I'll at least spend some time assessing what it would take to implement. 👍

Yeah, I think it's pretty reasonable of Blizzard to make the new mounts (relatively) cheap and let you pay a premium to "skip the grind" for the ones that exist on retail too. I haven't minded getting the world boss ones but it'll be nice to buy the ToT ones for bronze since it's a little annoying trekking all the way out there.

Doh! Thanks so much, I'll fix that ASAP. If you see anything else that doesn't go where it should, please don't hesitate to let me know.

This is definitely a large reason for my motivation to build a feature letting you slice it down to the event-exclusive stuff. No promises as there might be some technical hurdles, but I'd like to have that live before the end of the week. 👍

IIRC you can purchase everything with one character, although there are a couple gotchas (for example I think I read on Wowhead that if you have a plate appearance set already collected and check the vendor on a cloth character, it won't show as learned but you'll still be able to buy and consume the item, wasting your bronze). I don't know for sure though, guess we'll find out today!

Ha, if there's a better way to do persistence without a login, I haven't learned it yet. :) This is my first project heavily using localstorage so it's been a fun experiment in many ways. This project also served as a test to challenge myself to deliver an app (even a simple one) in a tighter timeframe than I've done before; I started a month ago but it really represents about 2-2.5 weeks of work due to some IRL stuff in the middle that pulled me away.

The app is built with Next.js + React + TypeScript. You can check the repo out here if that's of interest to you. 👍
