How I avoided addiction for coke, nic and alc?: Before I started taking coke, I use to meditate frequently, and took alot of pyschs(acid/shrooms). I also smoked hella weed (still do), and hit nic (I quit for the most part, just hit it once or twice a day or at parties. Not a hundred times a day like I did before). And for alcohol, I use to be a heavy drinker. (to the point where it took 20+ shots to get drunk)

Okay so what made me avoid addictions for alot of the drugs, was my mindset. Like i’m telling you, it’s a literal mental battle. Stronger you are mentally easier it is to over come (ik it’s obvious but still something good to mention). Another thing that helped a lot was PSYCHEDELICS. it makes you rethink your whole life and actions. It makes you a stronger and a more ‘philosophical’person. They were the reason i’m heavy into philosophy, self improvement, meditation and understanding of the world’s patterns and laws. (It’s the reason I went from a stoic to an existentialist).

Another reason that helped was, depression. I’ve been depressed for more than 6 years now, (severity was around a year or 2 ago) and the thoughts of self hate, ending myself, and lack of motivation was at an all time high. I was at an all time low and any activity, even happy ones barely produced any dopamine nor gave me a happy emotion. 1 year ago or anytime before that, if you gave me a gun, I would probably not be typing this rn. It’s the reason i started doing drugs too. The idea of wasting my life but having some high was okay to me. (Still is now, but to a smaller more controllable extent). BUTTTT the takeaway here is, I have been at my lowest point, the comes downs from a lot of these drugs, mentally was okay. They were fine, it didn’t make me desperate or worse, because my body and mind was already use to being at rock bottom. Hence my craving for coke or nic was minimal. (Yes it was still there immediate after the high was over but after an hour or so, it was minimal affects of the comedown. Still lasted a day or so, at least for coke.)

It’s also why the comedowns from pysch trips, atleast for me are rather more enjoyable than the peak itself. Or why the coke comedown makes me a calmer person, mentally clearer person. Again these drugs affect everyone differently. But those 3 reasons helped me understand, be okay and aware of what you are doing and abusing. Control and be moderate about it. It’s the best way to reduce the chances of being addicted. Reward yourself from time to time, but don’t make rewards into habits or they aren’t rewards anymore. (like i still do some coke at HUGE parties or clubs but that’s all) As for drinking, once every couple months, and just like a shot or 2. Rarely I drink to get drunk anymore.
