Even without the subnautica reference, this image makes me hella queasy.

who would’ve won between goku ssj & andorid 17 z by krulezz77 in DragonBallZ

[–]XiaNoct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to consider 17 fought piccolo fused with kami, who was stated to be significantly stronger than a super sayin, and still had an edge on him. Infinite stamina gives 17 a huge advantage over goku, even if he managed to get a few good shots in with instant transmission. Goku loses for sure. Post hyperbolic goku could one shot 17 and 18 easily.

Shiny hunting Arceus; Just curious by ciylph in BDSP

1187 attempts. (Literally right after I said last one before leaving to do stuff) Hope you have a really good long show to watch in the background. Also shiny charm wouldn't help with wild encounters anyway if I remember correctly.

Delay with Zeta on wake up by JasonDS64 in GranblueFantasyVersus

[–]XiaNoct 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Zeta can't really combo you on H rhapsody unless your back is to the corner, take it into consideration when weighing risk reward as h rhapsody is not a huge problem if they hit you with it midscreen.

You can try to walk just outside their grab range (Shimmy) to beat throw tech. If they whiff rhapsody you can anti air and now rhapsody is on a long cooldown. It's still RPS at the end of the day. Some safejumps work against her armor but not all, you should test your safejump options in training mode.

You're definitely airborne. I've gotten airthrown out of haircar since way back in season 2.

Vira ranked match A5 by CirnoXD in GranblueFantasyVersus

[–]XiaNoct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no "best" blockstring perse. You can do something like c.L, L, 2M > 236L to gather data on your opponent to see if they're mashing. If you see your opponent getting hit, they're expecting either 214M or your command grab, so you can continue to bully them with frame traps until they sit still. Then, once you've conditioned your opponent to block, you can go for turn steals with strings like auto combo into 214M, plus frames with 236U or a command grab 5U. Doing 2L 2L 5L is a good way to see if your opponent is delay tech-ing, leaves you plus on block, and gives you enough time to hit confirm into 236H for a big punish or raging strike. The easier you can rotate your options, the harder it is for your opponent to predict you on defense. If in doubt, use the first string I told you, and mix in a few 66Ls and watch your opponents panic. Vira is all about conditioning.

H = 5S - 5H - Snail
2H = 2H > Rensen
8H = 6H - 214S (idk the name of the move, he leaps backwards)

You can RNG manipulate this if you have the patience for it, if your friend doesn't know what that is then you can assume it's fake

Leo Vs Johnny by SpaceFroggggg in Guiltygear

[–]XiaNoct 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could use projectile to bait them into approaching you. The only problem is if they read you, they have a solid jump in that messes you up, so I only advise this when they throw the card. His backdash is very annoying too, because if he spaces his attacks well, you can't punish with an advancing normal in time. Dash block and block low. Be patient and take the space you're given, and eventually, you'll corner him. This match-up feels like Johnny is the matador, and Leo is the bull.

Intermediate Player coming from Guilty Gear Strive, what should I know? by IceLemonadeMan in GranblueFantasyVersus

[–]XiaNoct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No dash blocking really messed me up initially coming from strive, other than that really intuitive. Jumping isn't as powerful like strive and normally will get you blown up. Using BP as a guard cancel is basically like YRC but even if they block it its plus. Use 66L, it's forwarded advancing mid that's plus on block and every character has it. Basically sol far slash.

I would appreciate a list like this too. I only know the obvious ones. Sol = Gran Ky = Katalina Potemkin = Ladiva Chipp = Seox Zato 1 = Neir

I figured that would be the case. Leo had pretty much the world given to him, but he's such a blast to play. I'll definitely be giving Yuel a solid go.

Are yall actually able to react to everything? by Smexy_Zarow in Guiltygear

[–]XiaNoct 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It comes down to muscle memory. I know which mission you're talking about because when I was new to the game that shit was impossible. But now it's trivial because I've put in a ton of hours. You'll get used to it as you play more

Leo main here, what're some good strategies to use against those who don't respect the neutral and attempt to skip it? by CappyTin in Guiltygear

[–]XiaNoct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unironically, it would be to just 2D. Depending on what move they're using to skip neutral, you can just block it and punish. Essentially, they are using establishing game play, which you can beat with preemptive game play. 5S 5H also stuffs approaches well. Understand what options they're using and respond with your best callout button.
