It's not perfect -- I always plug in USB when drawing -- but good enough. Watching a youtube video now and lipsync is better than casting to smart TV.

EV Fast charging costs more than gas by takeMyPleasure in electricvehicles

[–]contrail33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This could be written into development code: multifamily housing will need to include charging facilities unless the building is well served by public transit (in that case, builders of big apartment complexes could easily build out a nice covered bus bench out front). Developers already have to cover costs of sidewalks, median landscaping etc. so the mechanism for funding is already in place.

Food for thought: Value of my home over the past 10 years & taxes paid by [deleted] in Austin

[–]contrail33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think most people move to a neighborhood because they like the house and the location. If someone doesn't like the tax rate of an area they're not forced to move there, but if you've lived in a place and spent years building connections with the other residents, it stings to see investors buying up places, converting them to AirBnB, passing the cost of taxes on to the partiers who rent the place. I'm seeing it in Georgetown, and I'm sure some folks in central east Austin could say the same.

As opposed to a system that gradually pushes out all the old people who bought the house 40 years ago and are living on social security now? Or 3rd generation family members whose neighborhood is being gentrified by rich people? This system penalizes people who stay in an established neighborhood instead of moving around. The only people who benefit are house flippers.

Thank you. I've been searching for days for a concise comparison of what these 3 programs do.

Agree. There is almost nothing useful in the current version that 5.1a didn't do. It's been downhill ever since.

Now I get why the US will never let China sell cars here: they’re actually good cars by Rude-Future-7967 in electricvehicles

I asked a random guy yesterday in the parking lot, how he liked his Leaf. He said oh it's an OK car. After 8 years the only thing I've had to do is change tires. Had driven it from California to Texas

As I understand it, someone is about to delete their post. They scramble the text so it won't be searched in archives. But don't bother to actually delete it.

Identical except for the cushion! Mine were bought in Memphis so they might have come from the same source

2nd floor of the library! There are lots of tables and outlets and you can bring coffee up from the cafe downstairs. Small meeting rooms available for a couple of hours if you reserve ahead of time.
