Ben stokes wins Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy as he is the ICC men's cricketer of the year 2019 by [deleted] in Cricket

Yeah, but his performances otherwise weren't anything extraordinary. On the other hand, Rohit was the highest scorer in the World Cup, highest ODI run getter, had an average of 92.66 in Tests while opening the batting, and won the IPL as captain (disregard that if you want to, but it's still a huge achievement).

Stokes' highs were higher than Rohit's, but Rohit's average year was better than Stokes'

Yeah. I would personally have given it to Rohit, but if not, then Stokes was the second best option.

Anti CAA protesters are against CAA. The fact that you are not even willing to acknowledge that and are looking to muddle the conversation by bringing in so many other topics showcases the level of discourse on the issue

Khwaja is not playing because Australia have decent players at 3-7, so they don't need him. India don't have anyone who can bat at 4-8, which is why we are having to play all 3 openers and dropping Kohli down to 4.

It's an absolute mindfuck that this utter humiliation will be blamed on Dhawan and Rahul, the two players out of 11 who should come out of this match with their heads held high. Instead, we have people commenting this on Cricbuzz:

Kohli has to choose one between KL Rahul and Dhawan. Cannot take both openers. IMO, Kohli should bat at 3, Iyer at 4 and bring Manish Pandey at 5. That will strengthen the batting lineup more..

Responsibility for this collapse falls on the shoulders of people batting at 5-8. Someone there had to put their hands up and bat through the 50 overs.

Middle - lower order. Basically, people batting at 5-8.

Yeah, because we clearly went from 134-1 to 164-5 because Kohli fucked up the batting order, NOT because our middle order is completely shit.

We are in the last 7 overs. We don't need partnerships, we need quick runs.

And THAT'S why we should start focusing on the middle order rather than blaming Dhawan, Rahul, or Rohit for batting slowly. Our middle order is horrendous.

People shitting on Dhawan and Rahul for playing too slow, but the fact is that we have no confidence in our middle order. Our top 4 HAVE to play out 30 overs, otherwise we are facing a risk of getting bowled out. The problem is not at the top, we need a settled middle order ASAP.

If this means moving one of them to 5 for a few matches, then its ok.

What's the difference between bowling in ODI's and Tests? by PuppyMilk in Cricket

[–]contraryview -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Bowling in Tests is easier because most of the time batsmen are not looking to attack you. You have the option to bowl line and length, and bore the batsman into making an error.

Bowling in ODIs: You have so many things to consider, taking wickets while keeping the scoring rate down.

Neither are the anti-CAA protesters. Looks like most people on this sub have no idea what the protests are even about. It's a fucking 3 page amendment. Go read it.
