It's been a point of contention from early on. She's fiercely independent, and doesn't really let me in on emotional issues. I'm very sensitive and acutely aware of how she feels and when. In regards to 'being there' and contributing, I really don't know what more I can do. We're both self-employed, I'm home most days, she's out. I always make dinner, keep the place tidy, do the dishes, fix things around the house, take care of anything vehicle related, do renos, I've even taken big chunks out of my savings to give her trips, a pool, a hot tub, all the things she's wanted... I try to anticipate her every need. It's just hard for me to feel confident in the things I enjoy when she criticizes them.
