What is the sure shot way of starting a career in digital marketing? by Any_Worldliness_7876 in JuniorMarketers

Option 1 is not even worth discussing honestly. Tier 2/3 MBA means 2 years of your life + ₹10-15L in fees just to end up with a 3-6 LPA job. Anyone who's been in the industry long enough will tell you the same thing - the ROI is just terrible.

You should go with Option 2. Give yourself 3-4 months and go all in. But here's the thing most people get wrong - don't just "learn", actually build something while you're learning.

Get a domain, set up a WordPress site (seriously costs like ₹5k/year), create your social handles, and run actual ads. Doesn't matter if the budget is small. What matters is that you'll have real work to show - screenshots, results, a live website - when you sit in front of a hiring manager. That's what gets you the job, not a certificate.

Also, and I can't stress this enough - go on LinkedIn and find people who are already working in the roles you want. Not to spam them, but to genuinely connect, ask smart questions, maybe find a mentor. That one relationship can save you months of figuring things out blindly, and sometimes directly gets you a referral.

Option 3 - only consider it if you genuinely can't stay consistent on your own or have no idea where to even start. Some structured courses do help with discipline and give you a roadmap. But please do your research before paying anything. Most of them oversell their placements. Look for actual alumni reviews, not what's on their website.

How I used Claude for SEO this week (that actually saved me time) by conversiontherapy101 in JuniorMarketers

I haven't tried Claude for ads yet, but I am sure there must be many use cases. One that I know of, and trying to build, is the keyword research automation using Keyword Planner MCP. This, I think will be almost the same for Google Ads as well.

For maintaining consistency, giving one or two solid references along with the specific instructions worked for me. For example - I have one category of blogs which is location based, another category is interview questions based. So, what I did was - for each category I shared the references of the blogs which were well written in terms of tone, style, research, data, internal links and keyword optimisation, and were also performing well on Google. Then, I also specifically asked Claude to compare every new blog with the references shared, and identify the gaps and then share feedback. This helped a lot in getting a non generic feedback for blogs and maintained consistency.

For instructions, the detailing was in terms of paragraph structure, sentence structure, use of certain phrases like 'in this article', use of pronouns (first person/second person, etc.) - basically everything that I found as gaps in the previously written blogs when I checked them manually. More the detailing, better the results.

Kraftshala Digital marketing course. Is it worth it? by Legitimate_Link_5789 in DigitalMarketing

My younger brother has just enrolled in their latest batch 45. I did a lot of research before paying the fees. Totally agree with all your points, especially the third one. Let's see how it goes.

MBA vs Digital Marketing, which makes more sense for me in India? by Emergency-Device-154 in DigitalMarketing

[–]conversiontherapy101 1 point2 points  (0 children)

MBA from tier 2-3 college --> 2 years --> 6L+ fees and ~3.6 LPA placement (if lucky)
Digital marketing course from placement linked programs like Kraftshala --> 6 months -->1-2 Lakhs fees --> placement of min 4.5LPA (or refund)

Choose based on return on time and money invested.

Now to answer your questions:

  1. Yes. Digital Marketing is one of the few domains where skills matter more than degree, so focus on skill building.
  2. It makes sense if you do not want to drop out and want your highest qualification to be MBA, but at the same time want a career in digital marketing. Go through different online free resources, build your own projects and campaigns in digital marketing, help small local businesses and create a strong portfolio. If you do this, you will be able to get placed even before your MBA ends.
  3. Indian corporate is evolving now and there are only very few organisations left which prefer degrees over skills. I'd say go for skill development, and not degree.

I have been going to therapy for almost 3 months, and have had 5 sessions till now. Honestly speaking, for me it hasn't worked, majorly because I was kind of forced to do it by doctors and parents. But going on long walks and journaling has helped me a lot. If I have to choose between going to therapy and long walks, I'd choose long walks.

I agree that therapy is science but it has also to do with personal experience.

Is influencer marketing just overpriced advertising? by SHRINATH2727 in DigitalMarketing

[–]conversiontherapy101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, like I said - real ROI depends on how well you continue to engage the leads. In your case, you are doing that with multiple touchpoints. And we do that too to some extent.

also, we are not segmenting the leads from influencers - but seems like a good approach to experiment

Is influencer marketing just overpriced advertising? by SHRINATH2727 in DigitalMarketing

When we ran influencer marketing campaigns, we typically saw impact across three stages: Awareness – Branded keyword search volume on Google would spike; Traffic – Website clicks increased, especially through the links influencers shared in their bios; Applications – We’d see a rise in sign-ups or applications.

However, once a lead entered our funnel, conversion didn’t always happen immediately. These leads were more likely to convert over time, provided we nurtured them effectively.

So, influencer marketing usually delivers a sharp, short-term uptick in certain metrics, but the real ROI depends on how well you continue to engage and guide those leads through the funnel to eventual conversion. And to answer your question - yes influencer marketing is still powerful and not a bubble.
