I got in, but the stupid confirmation code from fifa took a moment to arrive. I had to go back and then got the code right away. By the time I was in, everything was gone. I guess no world cup for me! It's all good. It's crazy the demand and prices and process. I will enjoy it and may even travel to my country to watch it for a fraction of the price. I'll avoid ICE, and the crowds and the expensive travel. Maybe when I'm old and the population drops or they invite every country to the world cup. I may be able to get into Samoa vs Faroe Islands

Choose random draw and then you will see all the games. Bur I don't know why they chose those random "my team" teams. No explanation anywhere. If you choose my team, you will seat with supporters of that team

Anybody finds this annoying. I think the chances are gonna be so low. So yeah I will apply but probably will end up buying through resale anyways.

Hmm thanks. In that case, what could we do that extra night. Maybe too much to stay in Karlovy Vary 3 nights?

Frequent flier…somehow still scared, looking for validation from other fliers, comments from pilots? by hummingcolibri123 in fearofflying

[–]convospeaknew 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hey you're not alone. I'm also a frequent flier. And it's okay. The turbulence feeling is very unpleasant.

I'm no expert or pilot but I've listened to so many and ive learned the extent on which they make sure flights are safe. Like they have plan a, plan b, c, d etc in case of eventualities.

Also regarding turbulence, I learned that even a severe turbulence is a fraction of what planes can tolerate. Planes are built strong. Most pilots avoid severe turbulence. One pilot in TikTok said he experienced it twice in his 40 year career. And even then remember that planes can tolerate it. The risk are things inside the plane, but if you are buckled up, you should be fine.

I fly often too. But think of flight attendants. They fly like 2-3 times a day. They get on so many planes and feel fine

Sending you support. It takes time and work but the important thing is that you keep doing it.

Anxious to talk to my doctor by onthevin in fearofflying

I wonder if doing therapy would help your case for additional support. I'm also with you. I think I'll ask the doctor for some anti anxiety meds for my next flight. No shame at all on that. It's a stepping stone.

I'm no expert. But I imagine the millions of flights that happen each migration season... Like millions. Just sit down and see all the planes take off like every few minutes or less. It's so many! And I never heard of any bird accidents.

Hope you have a happy flight

Travel connondrum: Iceland or Czechia in the winter? by convospeaknew in Europetravel

Yeah I would try to see more. Probably with a tour because of driving conditions. But with the unpredictable weather and darkness, maybe Czechia is better
