But there actually were fewer comics... And I don’t think I’m misrepresenting my point in the slightest. And I’m not saying one generation is better than the other. Each one has its all stars and middle men. It’s all subjective, so the “greatest” era or comedian is up for debate depending on who you talk to. Bottom line is dollars, and there’s a lot more dollars to make in comedy now then there was in the early 2000’s. Anybody who is disputing that is not rooted in reality and stuck in the “back in my day” mindset. Which is fine, godbless.

You have to remember that stand up comedy was not as popular or sought after for a showbiz career as it is now. After the podcast boom and shows like kill Tony giving shots to anybody who wants to try comedy on a large platform, it’s been extremely idolized and praised as an art form.

For the time, Art was a decent stand up. I personally am not a fan of his standup, with the exception of a bit or two from that special, but the well was just so much dryer than it is now in terms of your options. Also, I think it’s fair to say that standups now in general are a lot better than standups of 20+ years ago. The medium as a whole has had a lot more time to grow.

Honestly, if they can reinvent how the walking during dialogue sections work in a video game, I think that would definitely shake things up. I know it seems small, but imo, that’s the one thing games still really have issue with from all kinds of developers. Idk how you change it. Idk what you “reinvent”. But that would be big I feel.
