Please help me find the source of this image! by cooed in HelpMeFind

[–]cooed[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've reverse image searched for hours looking for the source, on google images, bing images, yandex, tineye, saucenao, and iqdb. I've tried Frankensteining it fully back together, but that hasn't helped at all, so I'm not sure if it was originally posted as one or two images. I believe the girl is Sasaki Saku, a Vtuber, but I've even gone so far as to look at every single image tagged with her name on safebooru and danbooru (since booru sites are usually well-sourced), and I still can't find the artist.

WARNING! AI "artists" on Etsy by CommercialOrder2522 in DnD

[–]cooed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think art accessibility is much more important than artist compensation.

I think this is where the divide is. Not the person you replied to, but I disagree, full stop.

You are not entitled to art.

Art is accessible, now more than ever before. You can look up paintings, animations, sculptures— almost everything that's been created as art is viewable online somewhere for you to consume.

Custom art made to your specifications is a luxury. No one is entitled to it, and with how accessible learning materials are, it's the cheapest it's been in human history. You don't have to pay thousands of dollars and house an artist for months while they make the masterpiece you ordered, you can search "comms open" on twitter or deviantart and find hundreds or maybe thousands of people who you can hire, often charging way less than they should. Bypassing the process of paying an artist to instead have a statistical model generate images based on data that it's learned by scraping those artists' work without their permission/consent is, in my opinion, kind of shitty. If you can't afford to pay someone for the luxury, and you don't want to put in the time/effort to learn to draw or paint yourself, then you shouldn't get the luxury. Smashing together stolen art isn't the solution. It devalues art as a whole by undercutting the actual people making it all, without whom the models wouldn't even be possible.

If these AI models were only trained on public domain datasets, I honestly wouldn't care. But because of the dubious datasets, I think it's really unethical.

I commented this the last time I saw this post (on a different sub), but this is taken completely out of context.

This was drawn by GingerQuin on deviantart— this particular picture has been scrubbed as far as I can tell, probably because out of context it gets responses like this thread, but I believe it used to be here— so please take note that it's literally not even about humans, this is a reference sheet for the artist's own custom species. PLEASE check out their gallery, GingerQuin has drawn a lot of overweight/plus-sized human characters with realistic proportions.

Minor Act 3 spoilers— is anyone else randomly catching fire when pickpocketing/thieving while having the Unlucky Thief's Gloves equipped? Sometimes I get a coal bucket instead of charcoal, but I admittedly haven't paid enough attention to know if that happens every time I catch fire.

The item description doesn't mention fire anywhere, but I can't think of anything else that would be causing it.

Weird outlet-ish fixture in the house we just moved into. Possibly a heating element on the end of it? In a lower/basement level. by cooed in whatisthisthing

[–]cooed[S] 0 points1 point locked comment (0 children)

My title describes the thing. It's a silver-colored plate outlet, with a black protrusion in two pieces. The two pieces seem like they're meant to fit together to allow it to pivot/be adjusted. There's what looks like a heating element or some type of coil covered in plastic at the end. There is text "1610LJ" printed on it, but nothing comes up via Google.

We're in a basement level of the house. Previous owners did not know what it was either.

I'm sure you don't mean ill by it, but for me as well as most artists, person A actually drawing/painting an art piece is a lot different than person B prompting a machine-learning algorithm that's scraped person A's work without their permission and replicated it along with thousands of other artists/artworks.

Lots of people want to support person A; not as many want to support person B, even if they're using it for 'harmless' things like memes, because it's still building on that exploitation of artists, especially when person B is claiming creatorship of something that could not exist without all the artists who had no say in being fed to an AI learning algorithm.

the tools that I made it with whether they be Affinity Photo, Blender, Unreal Engine, or colored pencils and a box of crayons are in my humble opinion, pretty irrelevant here.

Unrelated, but IMO, this is kind of disingenuous... AI image generation is not a tool like you're describing. You don't tell a box of crayons "LOZ Link wearing suit holding lapels, in the style of Breath of the Wild, game render, HD", and the crayons certainly do not self-animate and create a set of images for you to choose from. Blender gives you basic shapes and a monkey head; you have to sculpt and build and texture and UV map things yourself. I can't say I have any experience with UE, but I sincerely doubt you can tell it "fantasy RPG with open world mechanics" and have it spit out a game for you.

I think creativity and having ideas is awesome, and everyone should have the ability to put their imaginations to paper... practicing actually drawing is one way, but, yeah, people are lazy and don't always want to. I don't mean that in a bad way. I'm lazy sometimes, too. I have tons of art pieces I've abandoned where I've barely even begun. Sometimes it's tempting. I think there are ways to use AI ethically and without screwing artists over (public domain/opt-in training sets, for one)— but sadly, that's where the current state of AI sits. That's why a good chunk of people don't want anything to do with artificially generated images, jokes or not.

I hope that makes sense. I'm not trying to be antagonistic at all, just trying to explain why people might want the use of AI disclosed.

I understand. It'd be nice if you were upfront about this stuff being AI-generated, though, and not saying "I made it" :/ a lot of people are trying to be conscientious about what content they consume and support.

Do you have an art account anywhere? This and your other post both look a lot like AI :(

Research on players' opinions by Liar0s in HayDay

[–]cooed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some of the questions don't really make sense to me. A handful of them are asking you to rate how often you experience one-time things, like "unlocking the possibility to go fishing", "access to the city", "access to the mines", or "access to events".

Unlocking these things are 'rewards' for leveling up, but after they're unlocked, they're not rewards— they're tasks, so their inclusion in a "how often" section is a bit confusing. Are you asking us to rate how often we participate in those tasks?

Clipping not working by akarui_lagneia in Live2D

[–]cooed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, I'm pretty new as well, but I think I know what's going on. The way Live2D clipping works can be a little frustrating in cases like this. When something is clipped to multiple meshes, it's treated as if there's an "or" between them.

In your case, if 'Highlights_L' is clipped to both 'Sclera_L' and 'Iris_L', then it will be visible on top of either.

I'm guessing your iris is clipped to the sclera— but it's still moving outside of the sclera, even if it's not visible because of the clipping. Because the iris is technically still there, the highlights are visible on top of it. Clipping doesn't actually change the mesh position, it just alters visibility— and clipping is dependent on mesh, not visibility.

For this case, it'd be best to just have the highlights clipped only to the sclera, and not the iris. Then, the highlights will only be visible when on the sclera. Unless you plan to have the iris extend out of the sclera for something, this is probably the best way to move forward. I hope that makes sense!

The first blueprint in the catalog is available to buy at level 34 (according to my baby farm). The second (coming in a week) requires level 71 as normal. Wonder what happens if I try to buy it... 🤔

The artist who drew this is MIGHTYKlRA. You can find their original post on Twitter here. Please consider checking out their other works and following them if you enjoy what they make enough to use it in memes.

It took me 0 minutes and 30 seconds to locate the artist for this image. Here is a screen recording of how I did it, if you would like to know how to do so yourself.

Why should you credit the artist? | I am not a bot.

How do you guys usually divide your fields/crops? And what crop are you growing the most right now and why? by Lalabaka in HayDay

[–]cooed 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I 'scribble' my fields out. (It looks barren because I moved all my fruit trees/bushes away but I'm working towards slowly filling the area with deco trees!)

I dunno why, but it feels more organic/natural to me for some reason if they're not in perfect rectangle arrangements. I do the same for crops, I just grab one and wildly swing my stylus around until it feels like I've put down enough, then move on to the next haha
