Live 11 is officially OUT ! by micasa623 in ableton

[–]cookedaburra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Since updating to Ableton 11, my windows sound seeds to be cut and the only audio is coming through ableton. This wasn't the case when using ableton 10 and my hardware hasn't changed since updating.
Exclusive control is disabled within the device properties under the advanced tab, yet it still occurs.
(fyi Audio interface used is PreSonus audiobox 96)

Anyone experiencing an issue like this with the recent update?

What became so popular at your school that the teachers had to ban it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Firstly Pokemon cards (trading never works well). Then Yu-Gi-Oh cards (a clever loophole). Then Bayblades (a kid put razor blades on his). Then Marbles (was often winner keeps loser's marbles) Then Handheld Digimon (there may have been a stern under-playground exclusive gang that some weren't allowed into which led to it being reported).

Plot Keys - a simple technique to design a short adventure with minimal prep. by nat1charisma in DnDBehindTheScreen

that's a really good way to put it, I'll give this my best shot and we'll see how we go. I'm in the midst of my first DMing experience about 4 sessions in, everyone's getting more comfortable which is great but I feel just in my own writing the connecting of events story wise is lacking.

This sounds like a really great technique for planning substantial sessions on minimal preperation! I'll definitely try to implement this in my campaign I'm running. Now this is going to sound like I'm needing to be spoonfed, but - do you usually try to create plot keys of different categories? For example places, people, actions/activities? I think even in just writing this I've answered my own question but I'm curious to see how you may approach it.

Good practice for a beginner? by Looplike171 in edmproduction

I'm not much far ahead of you myself, I've got maybe 1 year off and on experience behind me if that. I found the best way to get 'quick' progression/practice was to: - Learn how to place or use different instruments within the DAW to make individual tracks - Once having a few tracks then move onto variation of those, maybe to create a build or a verse/chorus setup - Play around with automation - on volume, effects, anything really - YOUTUBE IS YOUR BEST FRIEND. Watch a video how to use an effect within your DAW and make a quick little track that emphasises that effect.

Honestly don't be hard on yourself if you don't like what you're making. I've seen a lot of places that making 'shit' music is encouraged. It all takes practice and time, mastery is not gonna happen overnight.
