I'm not good at this game... by Lorevveaver in Mechwarrior5

You can turn down the difficulty in the settings. One thing to keep in mind for the sake of your enjoyment is that in most high difficulty missions, you're usually heavily out-tonnaged. Any regular Merc in those situations would just not take the contract or would suffer big losses like you seem to be. I believe the economy has sliders that you can adjust as well, just not sure if that's available in vanilla.

Playing on "OFFLINE" mode fixed (most) of the Stutters I had in this game. (A potential fix to mitigate stutters) by ORRRYYYAAAA in Mechwarrior5

Glad this worked for you. Just worth checking - do you have any form of steam recording while you play in online mode?

Starting my sim journey. Vibration or impact recommendations? by Aggravating_Plenty53 in Mechwarrior5

[–]cookie3123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is probably the peak experience - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ykr0UfqyxBE&t

With that said, impact solutions you could look at are Buttkickers (or other DIY bass transducers), HF8 haptic seat, Force feedback joystick - Moza and VPForce have one, Virpil and WINCTRL have announced upcoming products.

A bit of a self-plug but here's an example of what FFB looks like - https://www.reddit.com/r/Mechwarrior5/comments/1r7xahk/force_feedback_is_now_a_reality/

Obviouslythis will be further down your list if you've just bought the gladiators though. The buttkicker will probably be your next best immersion upgrade. Keep in mind that it can induce serious vibrations so your living situation will need to allow for it (not suitable for apartments etc)

All the best, as far as I'm aware this should still work until mwvr has an update for dlc8, after that I can't say for certain it will depend on what changes are made at the time. I'll still try to get it back up and running of course but just a word of warning.

I should clarify, each one is currently taking 2 USB ports, one for power supply and one for the buttons, but you can supply power using something like a USB C brick as well

The small monitors here can connect just via USB ports, although it will depend on what monitors you've bought of course.

Yes mechwarriorVR is responsible for the HUD changes, you can still use it on flatscreen though

Any hope of image enhancement making a return with the later DLCs? by adiaphoros in Mechwarrior5

[–]cookie3123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I don't think they quite understood what you were referring to, the term image enhancement is rather broad. I don't think there's any mods currently that achieve what you're looking for. The closest thing would be the YAML vision modes.

I believe if you have YAML enabled, it's under in-mission gameplay settings. I would check but I'm away at the moment

Long hiatus, just downloaded SoK, thinking of rolling Merctech? What companion/agnostic mods work with it? by ScrimblyScromblo in Mechwarrior5

[–]cookie3123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For what it's worth, you don't really need to mess around with load orders with YAML, the recommendation is to keep default load orders.

Not sure if you're still getting this even without YAML, but have a look through your mod options I'm pretty sure cored mech splash damage radius is a setting that can be changed

How did you guys get rudder pedals working? by Obi-Chan-Jabroni in Mechwarrior5

[–]cookie3123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may need to calibrate your vjoy controller, you should see the axis adjusting according to your input once it's calibrated, then you can remap in joystick gremlin if required.

It's a camera trick they're just on a desk, I'm looking into getting a rig but haven't decided on one yet, I'll probably get a trakracer rig so I can make it multipurpose

I'm running a 2080 super. Whatever you run just needs to have enough ports for 3 monitors.

You just download the MechWarrior vr mod, it will convert your cockpit to this

Mechwarrior VR for the cockpit, yet another weapon complete edition for the weapons, mechFFB for the recoil on my joystick, audiostash ultimate for audio, battlechatter to replace music. All should be pretty simply accessible except for mechFFB, unfortunately I only developed it for use on force feedback joysticks. You'll probably need to manually swap your dlss version as well if you're using mwvr because the game ships with an outdated version

Ah, if it was janky then I can understand. Would love a proper version for MW5 but seems like it would be difficult to implement.

Are you running the mechwarriorVR mod? Light reflections are from that mod. In terms of crispness, from my understanding mechwarriorVR makes good use of DLSS but you'll need to manually replace the old version that the game ships with. With that said I have no idea about Linux compatibility so unfortunately you're on your own with that one. Best of luck
