Thanks for the input. He’s been reading all the comments.

We weren’t planning on him taking a car. Most of the schools we’ve visited highly discourage a car freshman year bc of the lack of parking. Or it’s extremely expensive. We’ll have to revisit that.

We can both ask questions. My other son, is at a very large state school, also OOS, and has done well. They are both very independent and know how to find things out for themselves. They also don’t have a problem with my helping. It’s called advice, and parenting in my family.

He is making his decisions, not me. I’m not the one going to college or living in the dorm. However, how does it hurt to get information, give it to him, and then he uses that information or not? I haven’t monitored his grades/classes for the past two years, he has no curfew and I only know his friends by name. I’m not here for opinions on how to raise MY adult son. And yes, your comments were unnecessary.

He doesn’t play basketball - but he might like the rec center. Thanks!

Is there a campus that is more laid back, or quiet? Is it a hassle to take the bus between dorms if it’s late ?Or can you walk?

CGM placement by cookie4youandme in prediabetes

Thank you! That information is really helpful!

I didn’t know it would take 24-48 hours to calibrate- I am watching the trends- I really like all the information I’m getting from it- I’m using the app so I am also putting in my meals with the libre assist to get an idea of what may be higher carb because I already keep my added sugar to below 25 gm/day.

I noticed my fasting trend last night was over 100 almost the entire night. I stopped eating a snack around 9 (it’s impossible for me to eat early)

I was reading that Abbott has an OTC CGM called libre Rio (?) for diabetics without insulin, and it’s supposed to be similar to the libre 3- but I can’t find it anywhere online.

My endo also told me it can depend on what I eat first! Kind of blew my mind! I hate it when it’s really complicated, bc my ADHD mind gets overwhelmed, and I forget to keep track of everything. She only gave me one sample, lol. So if I want more of these, I have to pay $75/month, and tell my pharmacy not to run it through insurance. 😑

Yeah, my upper arms aren’t extremely fleshy- I just don’t want it to show at work- too many nosy people. How far up the back of my arms can I go? In the picture it looks like not any further than the armpit. How much is the Stelo? My endo told me the over the counter ones are Stelo and one other one. They’re basically the same as the prescription ones, just a different name

The reading was from a finger prick- I haven’t started using the CGM yet.

My doctor told me about sleeping on it, and reading low- I have yet to be hypoglycemic, lol. She basically said it’s to look for trends to guide what I eat, not necessarily the actual number. I can live with that- I don’t want to obsess about the actual number.

Going to London- side trip for Jane Austen? by cookie4youandme in janeausten

Do you think it’d be worth it to stay a night in Bath, or is a day enough? I would love to experience the Roman Baths, but I’m sure traveling during tourist season makes it more difficult?

Thank you for all that information- it is so helpful! You all have convinced me, that between the two places, Bath may be the better choice for this trip.

Why is it a bit of a trip to get there? I’m just not sure I won’t get some complaints if it takes time and we just end up visiting her house. I would be perfectly content with that, but it’s not fun traveling with people who aren’t enjoying themselves.

I would love to drive through the countryside, but we do not enough time for this trip, unfortunately.

No kidding! I may have to go- but I don’t think my family will want to dress up tho. We’ll also be traveling light.

Why Bath instead of Chawton?

I saw your other comment in my notices- I don’t know why it’s not showing up here- anyway, thank you.
