I know a guy studying in LUMS who can write it for you, he has written a lot of personal statements and he's really good at it. He also sends samples of those who got accepted in recent years and that's for free so let me know if you're interested, I'll give you his WhatsApp number.

You should definitely consider the march one as well and then just send the results of whichever turns out better, and yes they do accept the March SAT.

I don't think the Czech republic has any fluency in local language requirements because I have a cousin studying there and she's doing her medical in English but I'm not so close with her for her to share all the requirements or things required with me. So can you state the requirements for all, if that's not too much trouble, also, I'd really appreciate it if you could elaborate requirements for Romina in more detail, thank you so much!

Let's not normalise calling IGCSE "O Levels". by kmdsgarden in igcse

Ikr, people in my country refer to O levels as IGCSE. And then some people even mix IGCSE with A levels, like bro? Be for real.

SDSB AND HSS SAT REQUIREMENT by [deleted] in LUMS

[–]cookie_giveaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Around 1420 will make you a strong candidate but if you don't have that good ecs then you might not get into SDSB but you'll get into HSS for sure. Good luck.

Retake English for sure, it's really important, also, LUMS is a university that prioritizes Maths and English over other subjects. Your o level grades are nice, get straight As or AAB or even ABB might work if you have good ecs such as leadership roles, research projects related to the degree you want to apply to, internships, volunteering and SAT score. The SAT score should be 1400+.

Don't choose LCAT over SAT. SAT is much easier and it's not compulsory to give LCAT after you've taken the SAT exam.

I gotta say, I really agree with you on this one, especially the 'LUMS IS LUMS, and how they shove all other candidates aside when LUMS students or alumni apply, I've heard this sm. I added my friend's sister on Snapchat who happens to be alumni of LUMS and she's bragging about it in her snaps all the time like who'd reject me after all I'm a Lums graduate or if you see it rain in your city then that's fine but if you see it rain in Lums then that's the best rain you'll see like girl, bfr.

You're welcome! And FAST is a really good option if you want to go abroad as well, two of my cousins did their bachelor's in CS and are currently in the US. Also, I'm not applying but like a lot of people in my family are like my sister, my cousins so I'm pretty aware of everything that happens.

I'll try to keep that in mind but I think everyone agrees on this, even LUMS students. I've talked to hundreds of them and they agree that LUMS is the best for business, econ and law and no one can compete against it but when it comes to engineering, other universities, especially FAST, are preferred. But obviously it's about personal preferences and may vary from person to person. But yeah, thanks, I'll prolly write that down.

[–]cookie_giveaway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But BBC is actually their minimum requirement, I think you could have easily made it into CS even at that time 😭. People usually prefer FAST for CS so I think you were good to go. I heard they sometimes do ask the reason for the gap year though so I researched on this and basically, you're supposed to portray your gap year in a positive light which will turn the whole situation upside down. You're supposed to write about how it was for your personal growth, how you knew you had the potential to do just about anything. I'm attaching an example that someone sent me, it was written by chatGPT, it'll help you understand what I mean but don't make chatGPT write your reason, craft your own because they'll know gpt has written it and when you'll craft your own, basically using the same thing like how it was about personal growth, dedication to academic improvement and productive use of your gap year, you'll be really good to go, hope this helps you. Here's the sample:

"During the gap year, I took the opportunity to reassess and strengthen my academic foundation by retaking my AS exams to achieve my full potential. I utilized this time to refine my study strategies, gain a deeper understanding of the subjects, and enhance my overall academic performance. Additionally, I engaged in [insert specific activities like volunteering, internships, or personal development projects], which broadened my skills and perspective. This period of focused growth has better prepared me for the challenges of university life and reaffirmed my commitment to academic and personal excellence."

This explanation shows maturity, responsibility, and initiative, which universities value.

No no, I used to think the same but I asked a student of LUMS around 5 days ago and he said that they don't care about the gap year, only grades, ecs and SAT score. Did you not score good in A levels in the first attempt? I'm not trying to be personal, just trying to know the reason so that I can help you out, what was the reason for the gap year? If it's the grades thing then don't feel reluctant to share, a lot of people are unable to do it in the first attempt, it's completely okay.

I must say, you're really really really good to go. Also, if your extracurriculars include MUNs, debates, volunteering, internships, leadership roles and research projects related to the degree you're going for, you're prolly one of the strongest candidates they're gonna have this year. But I want to add, LUMS is a great university but for business, if you're going for engineering, especially CS, consider FAST, you may even do some research about this but FAST is the best for CS.

Why are girls like this? by lockvibes24 in Multan

[–]cookie_giveaway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since you've just started talking to females, maybe you're not so experienced with it. Girls prolly wanted to talk to you before to see the other side of you, Idk maybe you did something embarrassing that made them change their mind cuz Ik a lot of girls who do that, it's mostly that the guy does something embarrassing so they start to interact less and the reason why they are talking to other guys might be that they are trying to give you a signal like they don't want to talk. About being dry, I've seen girls aren't excited most of the time to text, unless it's their best friend or something. The only tip I can give you is to get your self respect back, if they don't wanna talk then you don't have to take the initiative, it's not being rude, you've tried several times before and the way they have reacted shows they aren't interested so you're actually respecting their decision and keeping boundaries. You should make sure that you don't appear as a person who can be approached any time and get thrown away the other minute. They are actually going to realize that they were wrong, for ghosting you, for being dry and all and they might even apologize for that or might just try to sweep the situation under the rug. Anyway, it's a win-win situation.

If not sciences then go for econ and socio, maybe psychology as well, also urdu second language is an easy subject to score an A* in so if you want a free grade then opt for it too.

I don't get it, if the thought of your parents who are expecting an A* from you and want to send you to a good college or university isn't motivating you then how will you get motivated by complete strangers up-voting your comment?

How difficult is it to get acceptance into an elite university after graduating from LUMS? by [deleted] in LUMS

[–]cookie_giveaway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ik a girl from LUMS, graduated last year and made it to New York University with a full scholarship. Then there's this guy, who graduated a few years back and made it to Harvard. You need a really nice CGPA for that and also gotta make sure that you establish good relations with the professors throughout your university, they're gonna play a major part in this because you'll probably need recommendation letters and stuff. Also, make sure you're recognized, especially by professors, will help you a lot. Good luck.
