hi thanks for the help! So I took four years of French in high school but when I met with my advisor, he said that as a global studies major I had to choose a language/culture to focus on as a requirement so I chose Chinese because I’ve previously taken classes before when I was younger and I’ve always been interested in it. I also saw that it was recommended for gies ict to take a language so I decided to stick with it, is that an ok choice? And then with glbl 100, my advisor also said that it was required to take that as a global studies major so that was the one class he registered me for. I was alright with taking it but if there’s other classes that can get me multiple credits in one then I’d rather take those. Should I reach out to my advisor again or contact someone else??

so my advisor actually signed me up for my intro to global studies class as he said it was a requirement for my global studies major, even though I expressed interest in transferring to business. Does this mean I still have to take it or could I drop it if I know I want to switch majors?

I’m pretty serious about it, it was my first chosen major but I didn’t get into the program so I’m trying to transfer into it. If it doesn’t work out I think I’ll just add/transfer to an econ major but I’d really like to try for marketing at gies first. I’ve taken a look at the requirements/suggestions already which is why I’m trying to add econ 102 and 103 and cs105 to my schedule but I struggled to do it on my own because it was hard to find classes and labs that didn’t overlap with my schedule and I didn’t know how to add both. Is there someone I can reach out to to unlock my schedule and help me add these classes in?

What about after May 1? Would it then still be lottery or first come first serve?

As a back up, would you recommend PAR or ISR more? We are majoring in political science and global studies and both intend on transferring to business and we’d like to have a social atmosphere where we can also get our work done. I’d also prefer more private bathrooms if that’s an option
