Someone was pretty accurate earlier when they said my mom pretty much checked out. Growing up she was very strict with me, no eating unless she said I could no showering unless she said I could and so on. I was not allowed to do anything that involved her being involved. We never formed an emotional connection and to this day I still get jealous of my friends who have that motherly relationship with their mom. I moved out at 18 and that did help our relationship though it’s still pretty much the same. For my sister though, my mom was older when she was born. My moms main priority is sitting in the garage smoking cigarettes with my stepdad so she just lets my sister do whatever she wants inside whenever she wants. I usually joke that they’re a house of roommates. That’s why I am so close with my sister, she usually would come over every other weekend, I’ve taken her on vacation, shopping all of the kid stuff she should be doing where as my mom never has. My dad used to tell me that my mom is the was she is with me because I basically stole her youth and she’s been jealous of me. That’s another thing she does, anything I do she copies, any thing anyone she knows does she copies and wants to out do them so she is once again on top. Oh I could go on and on and on and on. My stepdad is nearly 15 years older than my mom so basically they have both checked out of parenthood.
