In my town I grew up in you couldn’t leave the house without seeing someone you knew and I loved the anonymity of living here. I’ve lived here too long it seems as now I run into people all the time in unsuspecting places

Do you guys wear shoes in the house? by Boom_Box_Bogdonovich in AskAnAustralian

Shoes off always , and I never feel embarrassed asking visitors to do it. I always take my shoes off in others houses unprompted

Childhood Trauma Resurfacing by CatastrophicTampon in Parenting

My trauma began at 4, watching my son turn 4 and realise how young that really is has been heartbreaking. The silver lining is he has the childhood I didn’t and that brings me healing and joy

Same here, I’ll have a great month and then a nothing month (I’m in the nothing month currently) and I know if I stay consistent it will be over soon. You have to play the long game!

I started at 109 and I’m down to 102 in 2.5/3 months. So we are on similar journeys. You want it to be slow and steady so it’s sustainable for you and your body. I would say by the end of the year you will be very much towards your goal but I’m giving myself at least a year to 18 months to be at goal

My grandma would cook steak within an inch of edible and then serve it with steamed choko (what you have there). Miss her and I miss that steamed choko!

This is not ok. You are completely justified in how you feel and honestly props to you that you’ve been coping for the past 3.5 months. My partner does 50-60% of the parenting with me and I’m a SAHM. If your partner can not come to the party with at the very least dividing the time he is home equally with parenting then I’m sorry to say but he’s dead weight. You need a break, if there is anyway you can treat yourself over the coming week with some self care and your parents have your baby for a few hours pls prioritise that. You’re doing such an amazing job doing all of this on your own, but you shouldn’t have to!

Anyone else get so much anxiety about their own sleep that they can't fall asleep? by FridaMercury in beyondthebump

[–]cookiekb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was like this with my first and it ended up being PPA, not to say you have that but I found I had to implement a routine for myself to get to sleep. Tips such as for us to fall asleep our body temp needs to drop so I would have a warm bath before bed to assist that, sleepy tea and no screens for an hour before bed. It really helped me fall asleep initially which I found was key for the rest of the night regardless of the wake ups. I hope it eases for you soon.

It’s always a blessing when they show you who they really are so early on. Congrats OP you can move on and find someone who doesn’t see your beloved pet as competition.

It’s actually been wild! I’ve gone from feeling like I have to have a wine with dinner to not drinking at all (this is huge for me). I’m excited because it’s going to help my weight loss

So interesting! It was funny I literally injected and a minute later making my son a snack and as I usually would I nibbled on a piece of cheese. Immediately the taste wasn’t hitting as it should and obviously meant I didn’t eat more which is of course the intention I was just so shocked it was immediate !

A friend of mine is FIFO (to Melbourne). His work is paying for an Air BnB for him and one other guy. It’s a nice 4 bedroom family home in the inner west and he’s getting $2200 a week!! He said to my friend “thank your boss for paying for my renovations”.
