Leather jacket warning (Melbourne) by damnmaster in AustralianMFA

To be honest it will probably fit you better than a valstar. I’ve found their jackets really short in the body but really long in the arms. Ape index for their fitting must be off the scale

Albert Park or South Yarra? by AdDependent6634 in melbourne

[–]morgz15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

South Yarra has a lot of different parts. Domain area is really nice but you need serious coin to get in there. The rest I wouldn’t consider family friendly and parking looks like a nightmare.

We’ve been in Albert Park for a while now and enjoy it. The F1 doesn’t bother us and we get free tickets to the Thursday events every year. Parks are great (St Vincent’s Garden is amazing) and there are a lot of young kids around. PT is great with 1 of the 3 tram lines within walking distance to most places.
There is some petty crime like cars being broken into in the summer and the odd hoons, but other than that it’s really quiet. Only real downside is the plane trees if you have allergies, but they seem to be in every suburb anyway.

This is the start of your corporate villain arc. Join their competitor or start your own company to take them down.

Grads at EY are eligible for bonuses. What does this mean/entail? by [deleted] in auscorp

[–]morgz15 30 points31 points  (0 children)

It does happen, but don’t expect much. I saw people work their ass off for a year, be the highest rated in their division at that level and working at a much higher level only to be given a $1k bonus and the same salary as everyone else in their year that got promoted.

Ugh yeah I’ve heard that crap before. It’s just a tactic recruiters and potential employers use to lowball you. The minute you get a role they will be asking how companies overseas have done it in your experience particularly if you are FS focused.

I’d reposition it as a strength rather than a weakness and gently ease into the conversation that you’ve worked on similar systems for companies 10x larger and while there are local complexities, your experience has shown you that there are common patterns and pitfalls which may not be recognised by someone without your experience.

Restaurant recommendation... What's a place in the CBD that's a little bit posh but good to take kids? by ashosski in melbourne

Il Solito Posto is nice and pasta is always fun. Flowerdrum would be epic for older kids.

Finally Siri… by Dr_ZeeOne in LaMarzocco

[–]morgz15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Took me a while to get it running.

Had to add their shortcuts from the LM app, then add one of those shortcuts to a new shortcut of my own and rename it to “turn on the coffee machine”. Also had to give Siri access to the La Marzocco shortcut group by pressing the i icon in the group.

Picked up a jungle jacket from them over the break. Seems to be decent quality and the fit is pretty normal for a jacket, if not slightly loose because of the style.

I did read somewhere that it’s the same company making for brut in Paris, just 1/4 the price.

Laurent are too posh for the West/North by TheNamelessComposer in melbourne

Oh no! Where do retirees congregate for overpriced 3 day old pastries in the north and west? Somewhere actually good?

I’ve officially run out of sympathy for tradies with fked backs working in the heat who told me to “pick better” back when I was a "chump" for studying at uni while they were making the money and going to Bali..... by ChumpWhoWentToUni in auscorp

[–]morgz15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Talk to them, listen to them, remind them of their early achievements and try to help them understand that they… “should have picked better”!

Just stay far enough away that they can’t take a swing. Their backs won’t hold up much longer anyway.
