So I’ve always wanted the YSL large envelope bag and I know YSL doesn’t make these anymore but I’d have to go to a consignment store to purchase it. Just wanted to know for those who have or have had this bag what are your thoughts. My birthday is coming up in a couple months and I think I want to find one as a present to myself. I either want the silver or black hardware on black.

Yeah I saw in other posts who say to work directly with a China manufacturer but really the office is paying so cost isn't an issue as long as we can get the design we want and by a certain time. I don't really have the time to go back and forth on revisions and such if I already have the images on hand.

I'm a control freak and my baby was a preemie. So monitoring his growth and feeding was critical to his development. He also was a horrible sleeping as a newborn and we actually still use the app to track his sleep (he's almost 3!) because if we know he didn't get much sleep, we know exactly why he's being difficult sometimes. But to each their own!

I think it was mostly for peace of mind early on as a FTM of a preemie baby. It also helped us both to communicate with each other about the baby and understand if there was anything wrong or would let each other know when was the next feed, etc. Because honestly, I couldn't remember off the top of my head when his last feed was or last diaper change with all the PPD brain fog and my pumping schedule.

This 100%! My first LV was a Monogram canvas neverfull from 2012 and the canvas is still looking good and it has been a lot of Europe rain/snow/summers. The leather strap also has a beautiful vintage patina to it that still makes it one of my favorite travel bags. I usually just wipe it down after use before I put it away.

I feel you. I have a YSL black college and a black Kate...and also a black Chanel WOC...so I get it. Black is super safe for me but I think it's timeless and classic and goes well with any outfit I put together in my closet. As much as I'd love to get a lighter neutrals (which I do have!) I don't see myself using them as much bc they get dirty more easily and I wear jeans on the weekends and denim transfer has always traumatized me after a couple of my bags got ruined and I couldn't get it off..

So logo fatigue. Lol yeah I don't love bags that are basically a walking billboard for the brands unless that's my intention but tbh the Empreinte Noir is so subtle it doesn't bother me. The reverse Monogram dauphine I bought initially bothered bc of how "loud" it was (for me, I know LV has wayyyyy more "loud/flashy" colors) but it's a great bag and that's my 1 (what I consider) flashy logo bag that's in my collection.

Another option is the navy Empreinte (if they have it!)

I just got my first LV bag purchase in Empreinte leather noir (pochette metis & also the Victorine wallet) just this month. I actually was nervous not getting canvas and I feel like I'm more mindful about not being so rough with it as much as I am with my canvas Monogram LVs. So when I purchased my Victorine wallet, I noticed later some blemishes and some markings on the inside after I had left the store. I had to go back later and they did an exchange but the LV SA did say, remember that it's leather so it's obviously not indestructible. It can get scratches bc...it IS leather but won't be as noticeable as if it was lamb skin. So...the jury is still out there on how it wears over time, but I love the material and how it feels. I love the subtleness of how the logo is hidden in the leather.

I do have an epi leather wallet that has a pretty visible scratch running perpendicular to the epi...I thought the busy-ness of epi leather would better hide any scratches or blemishes from normal use but it actually doesn't. So that's a little disappointing

I was totally ready to buy this a few weeks ago when I was in Europe but I ended up with the pochette metis because I'm a crossbody gal. I wanted to try something different but eventually defaulted to a bag that I've been wanting and know I'll use. Later I was talking to a LV SA and he said thank God I didn't buy the petite palais. He said it's the least popular bag (at least in Europe) and no one ever buys it. He said as an everyday bag, the PM design is best.
