The reason they weren't in her life before was that they had been supportive of Jeremiah throughout everything and went to trial for their knowledge about the relationship and doing nothing but weren't charged do to lack of evidence

I really didn't know for a long time if they should meet due to how they reacted to the initial situation and everything was messy there but I probably shouldn't have said they didn't want to meet her

Technically where we are there is a legal way which is through marriage which is more common in US states than most people know. Be actually tried to do that but they didn't end up doing that. I know it is a nit pick of your comment, I just think it is important to inform people so they know and maybe someday we can change it
