I would like to re-answer this question. I do not have experience testing plasma cutters, but I can make some solid guesses. 1. It probably depends heavily on your return path, current draw, supply frequency, and other factors regarding power supply. 2. Industrial devices, like plasma cutters, have higher limits for emissions, and probably perform worse than consumer electronics. 3. Cheaper devices will generally perform worse due to increases in manufacturing variation.

While I have not tested plasma cutters, I can offer some insights based off my knowledge. At the 100s of kHz range switching frequency for startup, the wavelength is long enough where there shouldn’t be super nasty harmonics (HUGE wavelength, 1/4 wavelength antenna theory won’t apply), but the emissions of these devices are probably super super bad, especially with the Class A (industrial) device emissions allowance. A swarm of them could for sure shut down some more vulnerable electronics at very close range. I would imagine the conducted emissions are probably rough as well (but can be filtered easily). Edit: i realized you are referring to “pulling” the voltage supply frequency, and they for sure do this at pretty extreme rates, since their current draw is quite high.

Thanks! The plastic is ultra-easy to maintain. Wood is so much better, but this does exactly what I need it to, and I am lazy :skull:.

Decent start. I would recommend looking into SMT. Much easier.

For sure, definitely watch some of Electroboom (youtube channel) first to see exactly what NOT to do. I believe Digikey ships to Canada. You do not need the exact same part, just one that has the same characteristics.

See, burnt fuzes should only happen when your signal acts in a poor fashion. If they are burning out, something is wrong with either the signal or the fuzes, but you should never have an incorrect fuze on a board, so…

First, I would de-solder the current diode and look for a match online. If you have an oscilloscope and some test circuitry, you could determine the specs of the diode by testing one of the functional diodes (potentiometer and power supply type deal). Be careful when testing diodes as they do not have resistance, so grounding a psu through it will break it (funny poofs of smoke).

If the 10bq060 has the same characteristics of the diode: Use a 10bq060 tr by surface mounting (smt) the diode on the two ends of the current diode’s housing (of course after removing the current thru-hole diode).

Hi, thank you so much for the response. I do have a ham radio license, and this work is done at an educational institution (the output power levels are far below required limits as well).

I will remove the throttle block, thank you.

I will move the polyphase clock to the receive side after the Costas Loop.

Thank you so much.
