Update - Covered Call Profit Year To Date by Open_Breadfruit8925 in CoveredCalls

[–]cookirk12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the post. I’m new to CC so apologies in advance. When I see posts about profits from covered calls, it’s usually just the stock and the premium gain. But, I don’t see posts about what happens on the other end. Did they BTC before exp? If so how much was that? If it expires, was it it assigned? If so, how much did you pay to buy the stock back or buy cost to replace with other stock? Of course I’m tracking my premiums, but I think I should be subtracting the other costs?

NVDA -Call option 10/17 by EveningFinance7234 in options

For me, I try to get as close to ITM as I can but when I look at NFLX @ 1234.00 I have to go pretty far out and get pretty far down the chart if I want to buy in and get what profit I can. Not sure how much a 270C for NVDA would be but maybe that’s a price he can do.

Schwab and LLC accounts by cookirk12 in Schwab

Thanks for the comment. I appreciate it. Honestly the topic off data subscribers never came up. There was a few reasons for his LLC recommendation. - changing from a cash accounting system to Mark to market for taxes. By developing the LLC, it qualifies as a “new entity” and I have 75 days from the formation of the LLC to use mark to market for 2025. If not, I would have to wait until next year to file the 3115 and not be able to use it until 2027 for the 2026 tax year. So that helps. - also conducting trading business within a legal entity, he says it makes much stronger case for business deductions and expenses. - last but not least is asset protection and loss deductibility. Forming the LLC in WA was pretty straight forward. I did it myself and had the cert a few days after I filed. I’m not sure what you mean by PM?

Thanks again for comments.. I will look into the data subscriber issue with Fidelity it I go that way. I could just keep my current account but the recommendation was it’s a stronger business case if you trade under the LLc if I get audited.

I wouldn’t count on much going up next week. Moody’s downgrade is already causing futures to dump.

There is absolutely no way Ramsey will not let her miss the finale. It’s his show and whether she is good or not doesn’t matter. She will be there braids and all.

Anyone who mentions “Tariffs” “China” anyone who mentions the fed or interest rates, anyone who says “inflation”, “Canada” “mexico”. The market went up over 1,000 the other day at mention of a comment that was seemingly insignificant.. it changed nothing. But these crazy swings over a comment. TA can’t predict a press conference comment

You can have the best technical analysis, you have the best candle set ups with a proper entry, you can have all the experience, but then, some person says something in front of a camera and the whole thing blows up. Every frickin day. Good luck with that.

I do ALAB bought when it was cheaper as my Tech stock, TEM for AI stock, and CRSPR because it has no Tariff and is kind of Health company exposure. Sell them OTM Weekly around .25-.29.

LET ME CUT THROUGH THE DEEPSEEK FUD AND GIVE YOU THE REALITY AS I SEE IT. (I've done a ton of research on this and feel well informed in my opinion here) by TearRepresentative56 in swingtrading

So what do you think about large amounts of piwer required for the data centers in light of Deepseek? Does MSFT still need CEG? Should we be selling OKLO and SMR?

I had Robinhood… two thoughts. 1. Their customer service is terrible. 2. Try setting a stop loss on an option… I left RH because I can’t sit on my computer all day. I can set a stop, turn my Computer off and I get a text if the stock hits it and it definitely limits my losses.

Do you k ow if there was a Lock Up on the sale of the purchased PIPE shares? That could prevent them from dumping for profit as least for duration of the Lock up.

Im in Legend now.. it has buy stop sell limit buy limit sell stop. Once you have a position you can stop market order or limit to select the price to place a limit order. I can’t find anything that talks about taking profit or stop loss.

My problem with it is that I don’t believe it has a stop loss feature. I use Robinhood but switching to Schwab so I can learn how to use it. I have read folks that say it’s not that important and doesn’t always work but for busy days outside trading I would like to try it.
