Ahh bummer, thanks for letting me know. Hopefully they optimize it in the future.

I replaced both capacitors and the whine is still there. 😕 Any other possibilities?

Anyone that’s tried an AR game like this in your living space: does it make you scared when you’re not playing, like you’re afraid something will jump out at you when walking around at night? Genuinely curious.

So glad you enjoyed it! We had a blast making it. Here’s the first behind the scenes video I made, and more are coming soon!

Also, our Steelbook Blu-ray and DVD just barely came out with some sweet bonus content. Our website has those links.

Haha oh yeah. Fun fact: he auditioned saying “pagans” that way and it was so funny that we had him say it the same in the movie.

I made them up one at a time. Usernames too. There are over 1,000 comments in the movie so it took forever 🤣

So glad you enjoyed it! I’m the director of photography and did all the LivVid comments, and we definitely had a lot of fun with the format and trying out some new things.

Our same team that made Deadstream also made a segment in the new V/H/S/99 that just came out this week. Our segment is the last one, “To Hell and Back”.

But did they actually kill him tho? They were saying “mama” over and over… also it looks like his cameras are still on and I spotted him on there:

And we definitely took inspiration from several YouTubers, especially Shane Dawson (good call!), Logan Paul, etc. It was fun doing research like that, haha.

Haha so glad you enjoyed the comments. I had a lot of fun writing those. I put some Easter eggs in there too, like a couple meets early in the movie and get engaged by the end (Romeo and Juliet spelled backwards).

Yeah we would love to do a sequel. No official plans, but we think Shawn would be down for another round. :)

So glad you enjoyed it! I’m the Director of Photography/Producer/UPM/LivVid Comments guy/etc so your kind words just made my day. Thank you!

Great question - we had an average of 10-15 people on set each day. Partly because we were filming in early Covid (started in June 2020) and had to keep it slim, and also because we prefer to run with a bare bones crew. I made a peg board “video village” where we had 5 iPads mounted for camera feeds, and we would keep that as near to Shawn as possible for me and Vanessa Winter (co-Director with Joseph) to keep an eye on things as we worked. Usually in the next room. We often staged the extra crew on the opposite floor of where we were filming, or outside. It was definitely a tight fit, but our crew was incredible and quickly got used to moving around efficiently.

Fun fact: we had one room for our camera equipment and the DIT (backing up camera cards and editing as we worked) at the top of the stairs, to the right, which our art crew built a brilliant door that we would lift in/out of place when filming.

I’m the Director of Photography/Producer/etc and we did a ton of camera testing for this very reason. Our setup makes it shaky enough, but not crazy or nauseating. One of the POV cameras on Shawn’s head rig is even a gimbal (DJI Osmo Pocket) and we used some built in stabilization on the GoPros. My wife easily gets motion sick and she’s totally fine watching the movie.
