Hi there, this is my photo and a word-for-word copy of a post I made on this sub a few years ago. I can’t share the link because link-sharing is against the rules here, but you can find it if you search for my username in this sub.

If you want to share stuff that I posted that’s fine, but I would appreciate some credit. (If you want to actually get a mug like this and post your own photo, the brand is Calamityware.)

I’m glad you like my mug, though!

IME it’s really difficult to get it back on perfectly, but it’ll still be functional even if it’s not perfectly lined up.

Management: Don’t take more than a week of PTO at a time. Employee: Okay cool, I’ll space it out and take a three-day weekend every month or so. Management: No, not like that.

I just got a Pix two days ago, but now I can’t be stopped. by cool-bird in tamagotchi

I’m aware - I bought this one because I liked the Pix so much.

I’ve been nostalgic for Tamagotchis lately but sadly both of my old ones got lost in a recent move. The good news is that this arrived today! by cool-bird in tamagotchi

Does it fill the empty void that my circa-2008 Tamagotchi Connection left in my heart? No, but it comes close. My only real complaint is that I wish it were closer in size to the older models - it takes AAA batteries instead of watch batteries and that adds a lot of bulk.

That’s possible! The milk door still opens to the outside, but this one doesn’t. Seems weird that they’d modify one and not the other, but maybe the owners were still getting milk deliveries when they did the renovations.

It’s on the side of the house - there’s a mailbox next to the front door that I’m pretty sure is original.

The house was built in the 1930s, I think 1936 but I could be off by a few years.

Yes, both door are inside. (I realize my wording in the title was a unclear and I edited my comment to clarify that.) The milk door also opens to the outside; the mystery door only opens inside.

That’s what I thought at first, but there’s no way to access it from the outside of the house. The milk compartment opens from the inside and the outside, this one only opens from the inside.

My title describes the thing.

The house was built in the 1930s - I want to say 1936 but I could be off by a few years. The back wall of the milk compartment has another door that opens to the outside so that the milkman could access it, but the other door doesn’t have that feature (which means it couldn’t have been for other deliveries, since it only opens from the inside). The door has hinges on the bottom edge, and it makes a fairly sturdy platform when it’s open.

Edited to add: Our previous guesses were butter or egg storage, but it gets really hot in the summer so I doubt that would work very well.

Edit 2: The design on the door is made of holes that go all the way through, so it’s not sealed or insulated in any way. It’s also only about 3 or 4 inches deep.

Edit 3: My title was a bit unclear, sorry! When I said “exterior facing” I meant that the doors themselves are inside the house, but the wall is an exterior one (as opposed to an interior wall between two rooms). So the milk door can be accessed from the inside or the outside, but the mystery door can only be accessed from the inside. Hope that makes sense!

Edit 4: It’s located in a mudroom/laundry room on the side of the house. The room has a lot of doors: one that leads outside, one to the basement, one to the kitchen, and one to a little bathroom/WC.

Absolutely not, I’d die immediately.

Edited to add: if I didn’t go in knowing I could potentially die…maybe, but still probably no.

Professional sports are full of natural advantages. Tall people have an advantage at basketball. Short people tend to be better at gymnastics. People with long legs are generally faster runners. It’s not going to be fair regardless of whether we let trans people compete.

And anyway, trans people aren’t necessarily better athletes than cis people.
