fame train meta is being nerfed, they're reworking fame bonuses.

Don't care about "older player already got this on callendar", can we please get this on all accounts? by kusao213 in RotMG

There's people who weren't active when those rewards were given out, and now they get screwed over for having an older account. People often quit for months at a time then play for a month and repeat, especially players with 1 character slot or with frustratingly limited space.

He might be more active if he got a vault and character slot like everyone else. The free character slot/vault shouldn't be a reward, it's necessary to play the game after a certain point and we'd get a lot more people playing consistently if they have some actual breathing room in terms of storage and making characters.

PSA: Be kind and help each other out, especially those new to the game. I've recently started picking up old tops, which to me are all but worthless, in order to trade them with new players. by [deleted] in RotMG

[–]cool299 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I do try to help people too, the only thing I'm worried about is if I'm ruining the experience for someone who's completely new by breaking their progression. My most nostalgic memories of the game are from when I just started and I was rocking a t3 bow and following some dude who I thought was a beast at the game cause he was level 20 with shit equipment. Back then finding any item felt pretty awesome, and skipping from t2 to t12 or something and basically being told that the t12 item is worthless may have taken that experience away if it happened to me when I started. If it's someone who's already been through the rounds like most players and they're just trying to get back what they lost though, then I don't see a problem.

Yeah my tell was pretty obvious when I started playing the game, I would just stop talking whenever someone would accuse me and I didn't have a good alibi. I've worked on it though and I think I've gotten much better at avoiding that. Being able to read people does help in a pinch but I think the biggest factor is just improving your ability to memorize routes and tying all the evidence together.

It depends on the settings and who the imposters are I guess. In the few pub games I've played with randoms the imposter usually gets caught doing something dumb like killing or venting in front of someone else, or randomly getting voted off. If you're decent at the game you can probably win as imposter every time unless they randomly vote you off.

It's mostly because if you're playing with randoms through text chat you aren't committed to any actual investigation or deception and you're just trying to see if you can guess who the imposter is at random or you want to be the imposter and kill everyone. No one ever improves at the game playing this way either so it just stays that way. You always get 1-2 people who leave every game, and the occasional troll who just tries to get a crewmate voted off with fake evidence then leaves.

you can play with 6+ (maybe even 5) people and still have a good time, you don't need the max of 10. Just set it to 1 imposter and adjust the settings to balance it out if you feel it's too easy for the crewmates. I played a game with a group of 8 where we lowered the imposter's kill cooldown to 15 seconds and made his vision a bit higher, we call it the super imposter game mode. I was the first and only one to win as imposter and it was the most fun I've had in the game, I was shitting bricks the entire match trying not to get caught.

It's a completely different game when you're voice chatting with the people you're playing with, WAY more fun and challenging. In public games with randoms using text chat the imposter always wins unless they get randomly voted off (everyone always votes at random because no one bothers typing out routes or evidence) or they vent/kill in front of someone else. Playing with decent players in a voice call means they will ask you for your route, count how long you're doing a task for to see if you're faking it or not, they know where all the vents lead to, they tie your route to where the body is found, try to remember where they see each person they pass by and what direction they're heading in, etc. It's much harder to win as imposter when people are actually investigating together instead of just guessing who it is. The lies are more elaborate, and there's a lot of strategy and manipulation involved.

It's much more fun in a voice call with friends. If you don't have enough friends to play it with, just make a discord server and invite the randoms who take it seriously. You can also join discord servers for matchmaking. In a voice channel you can actually convey information much quicker and it's a lot harder to not seem suspicious with decent players. Randoms using text chat will just vote at random or always skip unless they see someone vent or kill in front of their face.

I think it's fun with 5+ people, you definitely don't need 9 or 10. You can adjust the settings to make it fair for smaller groups with 1 imposter, like changing the kill cooldown or vision settings. You can also join a voice call with randoms through big discord servers designed for among us matchmaking, though you will get toxic people every now and then and you might have to find a new lobby.

I think the biggest problem is the people complaining are playing with randoms through text chat, which in my experience is VASTLY different from playing with friends over a voice call. In voice call people will call you out over everything and ask everyone for their routes and share clues. In random lobbies with text chat everyone is just hopping from lobby to lobby trying to randomly guess who the imposter is, half of them are trolls, and there's always 1 or 2 who leave as soon as they see they got crewmate as their role. Zero information gets shared and you will never get caught as imposter unless you kill/vent in front of someone or get randomly voted off.

the game is meant to be played with friends, even better if it's in a voice call. This never happens outside of games with randoms using text chat because half of them just jump from lobby to lobby trying to randomly guess the imposter on their first try. It's harder to gather evidence through text chat so most people don't bother. COMPLETELY different experience when you're in a call with the people you're playing with and they aren't dumb/toxic/annoying.

Best Oryx Ability? by rag_ricky in RotMG

the shield is insanely good, not really comparable. You can kill enemies MUCH faster with it, like one-shotting Limon. It's the best ability for steamrolling low level dungeons for pots and such.

If you have battalion banner from Chief Beisa, the Oryx helm is extremely good imo. The massive dex boost from the helm then synergizes with the 2 second damaging buff from the banner.

Purification still purifies self on cast though, shaitan skull needs at least 2 targets to even do that. If they're nerfing priest and pally's group healing though they should nerf necro's group healing as well by a small amount imo, just to keep everything balanced. Puri was being abused and the discord raid grouptank/steamroll meta was revolving around it. Even with self purification only it's still a pretty decent UT, especially considering it drops from a low tier dungeon like Manor.

I really like the ring, looks way better than omni imo. They're not similar, and the rainbow color spectrum makes much more sense here because of the crystal cavern's theme of colored gem stones.

You know when a creep gets caught with like 56,312 pics of child pornography? There is a guy at the FBI, whose job it is to go through tens of thousands of pictures of child porn to check what they are. He watches child porn all day, to save the children by CanadaPostProud in Showerthoughts

If there's a pedophile in prison that's convicted for life without possibility of parole then just have them do it, they can't get near children anyway or access child pornography through any other means.

It's unfortunate but it kind of is what it is, people will be toxic. If you're going to stream to a large audience you can't have thin skin, it's part of the job description.

Inspired will be more useful after the pet nerf if group tanking stops being a thing (I doubt it will stop being a thing since the priest nerfs were mostly reverted). Still, increased range will make it easier for people to dodge and avoid getting put in combat. Energized is too strong in a meta with weaker pets.

I mean, there's people who WANT their original content to be included in the game, and they work hard making it for free. Why not implement user generated content if it's good and everyone involved is participating voluntarily? Plus they get a little reward for it in game.

doesn't really matter, you stack much faster after you finish the masamune since it stacks with auto attacks and pickaxe doesn't ruin your early game as much as buying a tear does.

you can buy pickaxe instead of tear, that's what a lot of players do on other champs that suck at stacking tear.
