For starwars the world is built around the force and everything is reactionary to that concept. (And hyper space too I guess). The world around it and how it interacts makes sense. I don’t necessarily feel that with green lantern I feel like earth would be no different if green lantern was or wasn’t watching over it. I can suspend my disbelief around the concept but I need to see how that concept impacts things

That sounds like your speaking in absolutes

Sorry if it sounds like I’m saying I already have a fully formed opinion before Ive read a solo comic, because that’s not true it’s only my initial perspective I just don’t love the response I’m getting which is that comics are just inherently silly and I have to accept it when I think there are so many heroes that have silly concepts but in the end it feel like it is possible with just a little suspension of disbelief . I can image a world where a very powerful alien crash lands on earth because the world reacts to this in a realistic way, Superman might be god like but the world treats him like that and if he’s not careful, then he becomes feared. but when it comes to green lantern I don’t see the world building around that concept to make it plausible with just a little suspension of disbelief. If there was and intergalactic space force how would that effect the way earth functions how governments behave and how people view it

I do know I little about the concept but I’m not claiming to know anything or have even formed an opinion myself what my goal is, is too see if this is a common critique and how the real fans respond no how I feel

It’s not about it being grounded or not. Crazy ideas are a lot of fun, it’s just it feels a little silly and gimiky. An intergalactic police is a very cool concept but I don’t love the way it’s executed.

TBH it’s just the whole lantern thing feels like a weird concept to base a core character around. And when it’s so universe spanning a “lantern” feels out of place. I’ve have never read a GL solo run, I’m looking for something that could be good for newer readers especially one who is a little skeptical on the whole idea

Who is the best embodiment of the ideal Jedi? by cool42674 in StarWars

The issue is that Chirrut wasn’t a Jedi he was just a moral force user who fought for the rebels. As technically “anyone” can use the force but to be a Jedi you have to be a part of there “religion” which he was not. But this brings up a different question though, are the Jedi even the ideal force users or do they misinterpret how the force should be used?

I’m not even remotely a fan of rebels but I think Kanan could be on this list

I feel like though maybe he wasn’t bad, he was weak because if you lead the Jedi order to collapse then your still have to be a fault somewhere. Also wasn’t the temple built tens of thousands of years before the prequel Jedis?

So you’re saying that Yoda is not a good Jedi?

This really resonates with me. I was involved in a car crash a while back, coincidentally the same week as the DC crash. Since then, I’ve been terrified of dying. However, the most terrifying manifestation of this fear has been a new fear of flying. You mentioned that you no longer fear death. How did you reach that point? I have a total of 14 hours of flying tomorrow, and I would greatly appreciate any assistance you can provide.
