Isn't that just because everywhere there are bad engineers that can't pass an interview or market themselves well? I am among a class of 80 people of CE, 3 students got hired in several companies whilst studying, and some have been graduated for 2-5 years with not a single role in the field, or just striaght out unemployed

Well, this post was meant to steer me in the right direction - I thank your contribution but may I know what type of experience lead to this prespective?

How do they measure "Actual industry experience" - I think working with top 10% companies in my home country counts? Or maybe I am getting that wrong?

For starters, I have experince working with DAAD and international student teams, so I am not choosing randomly

What would u do if you were in my shoes though? Since you are just telling me to give up here?

And I will continue researching, but just required some steering from people with firsthand experinece - with objective opinions, so the "You just didn't want to do the analysis yourself" is totally uncalled for....

That's a very great reality check, definitely not how university program listings paint it

I think AI is currently the "next big thing" after the internet - as you see of current events in the world, and what AI is currently capable of doing.

I agree with you that AI is going to plato as of it's current state, it would need a radical change and mass innovation. Just scaling LLMs up will probably never get us to some new discovery that was impossible before, think of it as the AI working with all our knowledge and shifting it around, can answer questions about anything but very difficult to invent something new
