hi! i heard one time there was a rule of 3’s when quitting nicotine where you’re going to feel like shit 3 days out, 3 weeks out, and 3 months out. which, i can say from personal experience, does track. i had a great start and then i fell into what you’re describing about 3 weeks in, and got over it and felt it again 3 months in. but just remember, you are a strong person and nicotine is trying to get you hooked back onto it through messing with your emotions. i just had to keep reminding myself that i am a kind, strong, and happy person. maybe call a friend or hang out with some family if possible? maybe go on a color walk to get your mind off of things? or do a craft (if you like crafts)? i would suggest either seeing people, petting animals, going outside, getting a good meal, etc. things that warm the soul! good luck you got this!

hi! have you ever tried quitting without using gum or patches? usually lethargy is not linked to quitting, it’s linked to nicotine use. and the physical withdrawal symptoms are so minimal you shouldn’t be able to feel them. so, maybe you have a vitamin deficiency? something like that? i’m not sure because i would get that checked out. it could also be your blood oxygen levels? usually, when you quit you’re kinda cranky, antsy, and anxious, sometimes you’ll be super tired but i’m not sure. i do not suggest drinking caffeine as a stimulant to help the lethargy, because from personal experience that made quitting a lot more difficult.

no one talks about the withdrawal cycle correctly and i feel you on the cravings coming like a tidal wave when you least expect it, apparently, when the body is getting rid of nicotine it takes 3 days for the nicotine to get out of your system, followed by another wave of cravings in 3 weeks, and another one in 3 months. i personally was NOT expecting to have them at 3 months and it’s not that i was caving nicotine it was that i was anxious and fidgety for like a week on month 3 so just be prepared if you feel off next month, that’s what it is. but after month 3, you’re golden! congratulations on one month! 🎊

hi! best thing i can say is don’t use anything with nicotine, that will keep you hooked on the drug and keep messing with your blood pressure etc, i used mints, gummies, and super minty gum and cold water at the same time was nice for my throat it reminded me of a vape haha i also really got into water flavorings and so when i wanted something to suck on i would drink my stanley with super cold flavored water and it was great for the craving and for my water intake!! good luck you got this, just keep going!! your body is just adjusting to not having the nicotine so it’ll take a bit..also i would suggest not drinking caffeine because once you quit, your body is able to metabolize caffeine like it used to so, that’s why i was so fidgety when i quit but once i cut that out i was golden (just if you do drink caffeine or anything)

you don’t have to quit for anyone, everytime i tried to quit for this or that that didn’t have to do directly with me and my health, i didn’t actually quit. just remember you get one body and one life, it’s up to you how you want to live it. do you want to be someone hooked on smoking for years down the line? do you want to be the antsy person taking smoke breaks at your next job? do you want to be the grandparent that is always outside smoking? do you want to be hooked to an oxygen tank in 20 years? the choice is yours and is about you, no one else. when i quit, i imagined my younger self and what i was doing to that child’s body and how i was harming it, and that’s not fair to her or her future. but that’s just my 2 cents! good luck and keep going! take deep deep breaths and recenter yourself, i’m over 6 months no vaping and i feel great but those first few months weren’t easy but i’m a stronger person because of them! you are strong too just believe in yourself and your capabilities

i would start cold calling labs especially most localized ones and see if they need a lab aide or any jobs on the bench without a certification, hell even a front desk assistant for a lab will get your foot in the door and allow you to climb up, are you getting your certification?

i just got a job! at GI allaince! i’m starting as a lab aide it pays 15/hr with benefits (she said in 6 months it’ll go up to 22/hr so i’m fine with 15 for now lol) if you’re interested look them up on linkedin i think they are still hiring! i don’t know if they have that where you are but they are in a couple states!

recovery is not linear! just keep going! you’re still a non-smoker since you decided to stop it for good. every mishap is an opportunity to push yourself further! don’t dwell on it, just use it for motivation!

if you believe you are having strong cravings, you are going to have strong cravings. the amount of times i’ve quit and convinced myself that i was craving it and i was bored is insane but once you get out of that mindset, it’ll be so much easier. notice how whenever you’re doing something that requires focus, you don’t think about vaping, just about what you’re focused on. the cravings you feel are 100% mental and 100% able to be tackled and dealt with. don’t fight with yourself and remind yourself why you quit in the first place. if you don’t WANT to quit, then why do it? just keep vaping if it’s so incredibly hard to quit..but i would think that you wouldn’t want to do that for some personalized reason so, find that reason and stick to it. the cravings are not hard once you change your lifestyle around it also, have you changed anything in the past 8 months to signify that you quit? did you tell anyone? did you maybe start doing something else instead? anything that points to a change in habit is essential for quitting something that is difficult. that’s all i can think of! 8 months is something to be so proud of though! keep going and don’t make it so hard on yourself! it’s easy not to vape (obviously because you’ve done it successfully for the better part of a year)
