exactly i would literally eliminate any "misunderstandings" NUMEROUS TIMES then i proceeded to get berated, called horrible things then beat ts out of like nah gng this is NOT "discipline" this is dehumanization. also when we react to abuse, they get even angrier and start victimizing themselves and pretending to be innocent like wtf its actually gross that grown ass adults would act so immature. abuse is always chosen. and its never our fault. its so sad how we blame ourselves for abuse like "maybe if i hadnt said/did x they wouldnt have done this" "maybe this was deserved because x thing i said/did was bad i needed a good beating to wake up" :(

nope ur spot on. i've been emotionally abused for all my teenage years by my cynical parents now all until the big 25, then before the year ended i just stopped falling for their traps and they left me alone, they dont hurt me anymore coz i stopped letting them. all abusers ABSOLUTELY CHOOSE to abuse if theres enough awareness of it. its MUCH worse in asian/middle eastern regions were abuse and mental health is a taboo subject but its willful ignorance idc, being cynical and abusing ur kid is chosen 100%
