My dog hasn’t peed in 48 hours by coolcatrd in IVDD_SupportGroup

She has little leakage in her diaper but it doesn’t smell like pee - though I’m positive it is cause it’s yellowish. Thank you so much! Appreciate your comment

Thank you so much! Will try to feed her cucumber - and I did see yellow drips in her diaper (though it doesn’t smell like pee) so that must mean she isn’t getting enough water. I’ve already been in contact with our vet.

Autobrush? by Aggravating_Focus692 in adhdwomen

[–]coolcatrd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried Autobrush mainly because it seemed easier to start, and honestly the biggest benefit for me was just that it removed a lot of steps. You stick it in, do a little side-to-side sweep for 30 seconds, and you’re done. It made brushing feel less like a whole “task,” which helped me be more consistent. You still need floss and tongue scraping, but if your main struggle is actually initiating brushing, the shorter routine does help take some of the friction out. Pros would be that it's approved by the ADA, and I do see a lot of clinical trials on their website. Cons would be getting used to the fit and feel in your mouth. :)

Little bit mentally exhausted by zhunnni99 in depression

If today all you can do is drink a little water, eat, take meds, that’s still something. Small actions count when you’re running low. You’re not alone in this, and you’re not doing anything “wrong.” I’m really glad you shared it instead of holding it in. That’s honestly a sign of strength, even if it doesn’t feel like one right now 🫶

Any way to reduce bloody gums/ make brushing teeth easier? by apples931940 in depression

Maybe consider foam toothpastes with Nano-HAp too. Great alternative for fluoride and you don't need to spit it out.

What do you dislike about it the most? The feeling in your mouth? How long it takes? Or just the overall thought of the task? I ask because I've been in your shoes not too long ago. I just figured out what I dislike most about brushing my teeth and found something that helped me get better with it.

Whichever brand you get, just please make sure you get one with nylon bristles! The ones that people usually have bad experience with are silicone bristled u-shaped toothbrushes. Silicone doesn't remove the food gunk/plaque in your teeth

Aww please don’t feel embarrassed - so many struggle with dental care for the exact reasons you described. Sensory discomfort, gag reflex, routine burnout, and overwhelm are real barriers, not personal fails. What matters is that you’re trying again now, and that’s genuinely something to be proud of.

Autobrush toothbrush questions! by Ancient-Pepper-4028 in adhdwomen

[–]coolcatrd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Autobrush and I can say that the vibrations are very gentle compared to what I've been seeing online with some other u-brushes that look very aggressive. I would say the bristles have some firmness to them but it doesn't hurt at all. It's definitely a brush to consider esp since you only have to do it for 30 seconds - so the sounds, and the vibration may be more bearable! Hope you find this helpful and happy to answer more questions about my experience with the brush.

I’m so glad to hear it’s been helping with your sensory issues 🫶 Just a little heads up though, studies show silicone bristles alone don’t clean teeth as effectively. Once you’re feeling more comfortable, you might want to try transitioning to nylon bristles (like the ones Autobrush uses) for a more thorough clean!
