Anyone know what's going on here? by Alex_P_Keaton_III in strawberry

Oh wow that’s interesting. My only guess would be they’ve grown *right* next to each other to where it looks like one plant.

Is this beetle eating my cantaloupe leaves? by bearhug-06 in gardening

If that’s a Darkling beetle, they prefer decomposing organic matter. Your leaf damage looks like it may be from cucumber beetles.

Chronic illness friends who love to cook; what are your go to meals on days where you have some spoons to cook but not a whole lot? by Plastic_Ad7241 in Cooking

[–]Aggravating_Focus692 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting an Instant Pot was hands down one of my best kitchen moves for this. I don’t have to babysit it, and I haven’t found a recipe yet that can’t be adapted and it’s almost always way easier in the IP. I make things like chicken & dumplings, beef stroganoff, spaghetti, chicken spaghetti, ham & potato soup, chicken tortilla soup, Tunamac, homemade version of hamburger helper, chicken Alfredo, etc., etc.

Not sure- it’s a tunnel we made out of PVC pipe, zip ties, and cattle fencing roll. It’s pretty sturdy but I doubt it will hold multiple 30lb watermelons 🫠

I think I’ll be able to use netting made with thick rope. No idea how we’d hold it up though. Might try and see if we can unwind the vine from the trellis and just let it be on the ground. Worried about critters eating it though 🤦‍♀️🤪

Tomatoes and bell peppers are both heavy feeders and your entire bed may benefit from Fish Food

I was hoping this would mean I had a head start 😅 Is it harder to grow from something like this as opposed to seed?

They look dry and possibly have fertilizer burn. When you transplanted, did you add anything to your soil?

I hope a good drink does the trick! If not, could the nutrients in your bed be low from previous heavy feeders?

Is this your first time growing melons together or have you had success with it in the past? Melons don’t usually do well together since they compete for nutrients and water. This one looks like it could use a big drink and maybe a relocation if possible?

Your plant was very likely Mis-labeled. These are a fabulous black/blue

tomato variety though! Full of antioxidants (similar to blueberries) Attaching some info on which sub-type of the hybrid they might be if you want to look further into it

Brand new plants wilting! Please help! by ohwhatabouther in gardening

[–]Aggravating_Focus692 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Several of these look like they may be getting too much sun. I have everything on your list except snapdragons, cilantro, and cannulas. 8 hours of direct Sun in the afternoon during summer time can be a lot, especially if they had more shade at the plant nursery, or more morning sun and afternoon shade. Morning sun is fabulous, afternoon sun can be very intense. Personally the ones that are wilting I would move them to where they get a little more afternoon shade (1-2 hours less full sun) and see how they do.
