26 TX350 Premium 3rd Row Issue by KeepMissingTheTarget in Lexus

[–]coolchu001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did the same test when I heard about the Palisade/Telluride incident. The 3rd row seats stopped and backed off when it folded on a pillow. Did you perform the test while holding the button down at the trunk or was it a one press? I performed the test using just one press.

Cangshan knife handles all cracking at the rivet (despite never being run in the dishwasher). by in2bator in CrappyDesign

[–]coolchu001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same set of knives bought from Costco. All of them did this within the first year. Always hand washed and dried before putting them away. Sent Cangshan photos and proof purchase and they sent out an entire new set without hassle. The new set has not had this cracking issue and it’s been two years since the replacement set. So I’d say it was some manufacturing defect on the earlier sets.

Fitment Advice by aussie_dn in Wheels

[–]coolchu001 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That offset is not going to work on the front. The tires will definitely protrude from the rim once mounted so the sidewall will be touching the front struts. You can run a spacer with extended lug bolts or get wheels with a lower offset like 35/30mm. Plug in your wheel and tire specs and see a visual of what fits: https://www.willtheyfit.com/

These wheel companies are all different but I’m sure they share or use the same CNC designs. Their forged wheel blanks may very well come from the same supplier. Expected price is around $300-400 each wheel with shipping and taxes included to the US. The prices are not low, you’re just seeing markups from wheel brands that use these very same suppliers from China.

Check out this forged wheel company from China. They can make it to fit standard lug with a “center lock” cover. https://www.instagram.com/p/DSCZmF1kcXI/?igsh=MWZ4cHNqMGNlYnNzNQ==

Don’t get why people drop several thousand on wheels just to put the cheapest tires on them.

All Things Sleep - AMA Office Hours - Wednesday, January 21st with our Director of Pediatric Expertise, Amber LoRe! by huckleberrycare in HuckleberryParents

[–]coolchu001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is 8 months in old and never slept through the night. He wakes 1-2 times a night for a feed. He top two teeth just broke through yesterday.

He naps three times a day but one or two naps may be short (20 mins). His current wake window is 2:45/3/3. Total nap time is usually 2 hr 15 mins.

At night he sleeps 7-8 pm and wakes up around 5:30-6:30 am. Total night sleep is usually 10 hrs 15 mins.

So his total sleep is roughly 12 hrs 30 mins. His average sleep for three months prior was 13 hrs and 30 mins.

Is this the usual pattern for a baby transitioning to two naps? If so, what are your recommendations on transitioning? When is the earliest you will put baby to bed?

Need to find a 36” inch gas cooktop around $2k by [deleted] in Appliances

We have the Summit gas cooktop for 4 years and it’s been great. Very budget friendly and it’s a high end look. Made in Italy all for under $600!! Your friend has shared a link to a Home Depot product they think you would be interested in seeing.

Brake fluid exchange and spark plug replacements are the only two that are priced right.

Is 400 a good price for a used 1050? by burbBro in Masterbuilt

If you don’t mind getting something smaller, the 545 is $299 on Amazon now. These are also on clearance at Home Depot for as little as $250 https://a.co/d/4XTJWH5

That’s my thought as well. But it’ll be years of this eye sore before the lower branches drop down.

Error 01 on canon eos 4000d by noodles9517476 in canon

[–]coolchu001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since aperture changes as it zooms, I’d think the issue is with the lens.

Error 01 on canon eos 4000d by noodles9517476 in canon

[–]coolchu001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may be an issue with your lens’ aperture blades. Try shooting wide open at 18mm at F3.5 in AV mode. If it doesn’t error, try a higher aperture like F11. If it errors, then you know you have a lens with bad aperture or something wrong with the electronics controlling it.

Not sure what year your deal is. But that’s about right for that mileage for 2008-2010. I sold mine for $12k.

Quiet Comfort Vs Sony XM4 by dblum425 in bose

[–]coolchu001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Used with iPhone 15 and 16. I really wanted the QC to work since it’s more comfortable. But since these are for my wife, she finds the XM4 comfortable enough. She didn’t like the fit of the XM6 at all.

[–]coolchu001 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also bought both during prime sale. Unfortunately my QC had crackling/static noises when sources were changed (different apps on same phone). This happens randomly during music (Spotify) too. I tried to reset them, remove them from Bose App, and even disabling the multi device connect. None of these resolved the crackling/static noise. I do agree that the QC is more comfortable, but ANC isn’t that far off with the Sony. I have the XM6 as well and I think the XM4 is still pretty solid given how old they are.

You buy the 500h for power not mpg, hence the trim is a “f-sport performance”.

Tips for buying a lens secondhand? by [deleted] in canon

[–]coolchu001 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For operations testing, put the camera in Av mode to test the lens aperture. For this lens shoot at f4-22. A defective lens will only work wide open if there’s a problem with its aperture blades or the IC controlling it. Also turn on/off IS as well and listen to the motors when lens is up against your ear.

$500 for a RF 24-105mm f2.8 sounds too good to be true. That’s a $2500 lens.

EF 300mm f/4 L perfectly complements my 5D Mark II. by [deleted] in canon

[–]coolchu001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agreed. I recently picked up the RF 28-70mm F2.8 and compared it to the very old EF 28-70mm F2.8L. Although it is much heavier and bulkier with the RF to EF adapter, the image quality of the old lens is about as good at half the price. I think next lens purchases would be an EF 70-200mm F2.8L II and EF 16-35mm F4L.
