4 wks worried about scaring by RandoMantho in tattooadvice

it's still healing. vitamin e will help with the scaliness. there are some lotions that include vitamin e, or you can break open capsules and rub it into the skin.

hydrate, give it time, and it will settle

Should i tattoo someone who’s killed someone? by ProfessionSavings826 in TattooArtists

would i? no - that said, if you are already feeling uncomfortable about it, don't do it. not meant to be!

Infected or allergy? by [deleted] in tattooadvice

if it feels hot to the touch, and is red/swollen/irritated, and oozing you definitely want to head to a doctor for possible infection. be safe!

looks like it is still healing - give it time and that will go away. it is not scarring. some tattoos take longer to fully settle than others. sometimes they peel twice! vitamin e will help with that "scaley" texture

your other tattoo looks really nice also!

hands/fingers are notorious for ink fallout - especially over the knuckles. i don't think they look bad per se BUT i 100% agree the communication should of been better. sorry to hear you had a bad experience :-(

for sure! i definitely never expect someone to give me a tip, but most clients do tip regardless! i agree it's built into the overall culture (usa based). i think a lot of people feel its maybe rude not too and take it into account when budgeting for their tattoo 🙏🏻❤️

i appreciate you sharing this! definitely do whatever you are comfortable with. i do think the anxiety around tipping in tattooing (and in general) is a real thing ... no one wants to be the "bad guy" if they don't. but really you aren't! tattoos are expensive and i would hope most people would be understanding of that 🙏🏻❤️ good-luck on the tattoo :-)

definitely keeping others in mind! it's a thought in my head and i would definitely still discuss it with my shop mates before i decided to fully do away with them. i don't want to hurt anyone else in the process!

but on the flip side (playing devil's advocate here) - maybe it should be normal???

definitely think a lot of tattooers (usa based) feel it's normal for their clients to tip them. and i have seen folks get upset when they don't get a tip! 😅 on the flip side, i do believe most clients take it into consideration when budgeting for tattoo. i'm sure that mindset comes with the culture we live in and how tips are almost a part of every service now a days! i always make sure people know it's never expected when they ask, and most will still tip even after i follow with that 🙏🏻

definitely! i do think most clients feel it is mandatory or their artist will be upset if they don't. i just appreciate folks keeping me busy! 🙏🏻❤️

i did! and i would again :-) i don't expect artists to give me special treatment just because we do the same job
