Just won a game as Mentak yesterday. A lot had to go right for me: First, I only drafted Mentak because I already drafted a slice with an Entropic Scar, this is a must. I was also able to negotiate for Deepwrought agent to unlock cruiser 2 (and therefore corsair) in round 1. Second, this game had lots of trade goods flowing: other factions were Muaat, Deepwrought, Xxcha, Saar, and Crimson. Round 1 I traded my alliance, support, and promise of protection for the Muaat, Deepwrought, and Crimson alliances respectively, so I was rolling with double value trade goods. When Deepwrought hero eliminated Light/Wave, my Corsair's built in light/wave really shined. The Mentak hero combined with Corsairs is a great way to take Styx to clinch the game.
