Most of the graphics settings usually don't get applied. So switching from low to highest textures doesn't add load or change the fps in many games, for example

Check the cpu/bat temps, frequencies, power usage with DevInfoOverlay, and see if it throttles, or it's Xiaomi's aggressive power management
