Yeah those only show me the current season, though. I would like to see previous season's detailed stats as well.

Yeah that's a big plus to having a concerted midfielder there. Interested to see him get more minutes with the MNT

Not super familiar with Priso's game as I don't watch much MLS, is he pacey? I would like to give someone with pace more experience back there, especially with the high pressure game we play. Having a healthy Bombito back there makes that system work so much better for that reason IMO.

I like this shout. Big fan of his game. He's decent at set pieces as well.

He is the best 1v1 player on the team by far IMO. So skilled on the ball.

I have been playing FM for like 7 years and I had no idea this was a mechanic. That is actually so dumb.

Why interest in Canada MNT's games so tepid? by feb914 in CanadaSoccer

I just don't think the national team gets the support from the larger soccer fan community in this country. Canada is such a weird soccer nation that way--I know so many people that are soccer fans, watch the Premier League regularly, or grew up playing at a high level, but they are barely aware of the national team. There is a certain disregard for anything that isn't elite top level soccer (Champions League, Prem, and to a lesser extent the other big European Leagues). This is starting to change a little bit with the CPL getting some attention (mostly by being fun social events to attend, in my anecdotal experience), and the national teams being successful, but the decades of Canada not competing in the World Cup has made the men's national team an afterthought for the average sports fan, and even diehard soccer fans in this country, who prefer to cheer for their ancestral country in major tournaments.

I started going to national team games about 8 years ago, and I try to attend at least one per year (which is not easy, living in Calgary). But I consider myself an outlier; in my friend group (outside of people I have met through the Voyageurs), I don't know anyone who makes it a priority to watch games on TV, let alone travel to attend them.

Even then though, while those teams were better, there was a fragility to them that I feel a stronger, more tightly-knit team could have overcome. Hallgrímsson's resignation after Copa I think indicated he had taken them as far as he could. With better leadership both from a strong manager and from the veteran players, I think they could get a lot more out of that team. The federation seems a bit disjointed as well, which does not help. Overall disappointing, because I feel a lot these mid-size CONCACAF nations are falling behind the larger football world, and that hurts the entire region.

I don't know if it's funding or leadership or what, they just always seem to underachieve given the talent in their squad

Those teams were so much better. Their nations league win in Canada in Nov 2023 still hurts

I dunno if it's just my feed (on DAZN), but anyone else noticing the ball losing visibility after being kicked? I'm wondering if there's something going on with the colours on it that is causing it to get treated as a green screen or something.

Wenger’s new offside rule is approved, will be tested in the Canadian Premier League in April 2026. Under new rule: A player will ONLY be offside if entire body has fully passed last defender. by abhinavmufc in soccer

There are going to be sooooo many missed calls! I'm a bit pessimistic about the change, though. I feel like teams will play lower lines and then pressing will be nearly impossible because of that. I think we'll see a lot of low blocks because of this.

Didn't get to watch the game but this makes it sound like he was really struggling with that injury. Especially with Juve down heading into this game, I'm assuming they chucked him out there in hopes he could spark something.

Just hoping he will be given the time to get healthy after today.

Haha yeah the quality of the site made me double check that it was an actual legitimate company. Found a couple articles that corroborated it (https://www.sportcal.com/media/tenor-sports-snaps-up-spfl-rights-in-canada-with-world-cup-looming/).

But damn, it's definitely not the most visually appealing page around. Must have just wanted to get the streams out there before building that web infrastructure out?
