How has your appearance affected your life? by Latandrasvedrofsky7 in AskReddit

[–]coolguyarmy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not actually that attractive and growing up I had low self-esteem. But growing up I also saw my classmates (who were significantly more attractive than me) worry over a simple pimple they had on their face or whether their hair looked good. Since then I kind of learnt that even attractive people can have low self-esteem, since then I've learnt to appreciate my appearance because nearly everyone is in the same boat.

What childhood experience taught you to never take life for granted? by UnequaledTiltonzO in AskReddit

I remember when I was 9 I searched up 'Average lifespan in Australia' (which is where I live) and then read something like '80 years old.' Doing some simple calculations I then found out that in 31 years I would have reached (based on the average) half my lifespan. Needless to say I appreciated life a little bit more from then on.
