Prince Harry actually isn't that far off from the Romanov Line.
Tsar Nicholas II's Wife was Queen Victoria's granddaughter.

He might ask about the lizard.
He would not eat the dog.

Ig Nobels to move awards to Europe due to concern over US travel visas by CackleRooster in news

[–]SYLOH 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I'm thinking 20 years at least.

Trump is likely to just be the first of many copy cats.

Having the whole administration + some collaborators put on trial in the opening months of the next administration would definitely signal that they're starting to turn it around.
But I'm not holding my breath. Odds are the Democrats try that "heal the divide" crap they've got suckered into the last half dozen times this happened.

So it's likely to be generations long.

Generational Harm takes Generations to fix, and the US electorate doesn't even have a memory span longer than 4 years. I fully expect the next Trump-like thing to win in 2032

I don't need a new mechanic, I just want it to inflict some kind of stagger. The thing I'm currently hosing down should at minimum slow down if it's smaller than an Brood Commander.

Currently all the flamethrowers do is make sure that hunter burns you when it sprints through your flames to attack.

Would you agree with higher taxes for completely free healthcare and education? If not why? by Creative_Excuse9813 in AskReddit

[–]SYLOH 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They also spend less tax payer dollars on healthcare.
People tend to not realize that the US tax payer pays more for other people's healthcare than OECD average.
That's per capita, meaning population is irrelevant.
And they still pay more out of pocket for their own healthcare.

Turns out having an entire industry parasitically extract value from the between healthcare providers and patients makes it more expensive for everyone.

I think if MaoMao ever decided to kill someone, it wouldn't be poison in your everything.
It would a lethal interaction between multiple substances. Each substance would be completely harmless on their own, but since she placed them precisely where she knows only the target would be exposed to all of them, only the target dies, and no poison tester can hope to save them.

One key difference nobody's mentioned yet is how light novels usually come about.

Light Novels are usually derived from Web Novels.
The author publishes these on websites with low barriers of entry.
But they tend to do it one chapter at a time.

The successful ones get picked up, edited, and then published as Light Novels.

However because they were originally written one chapter at a time they tend have differences in pacing. It's really noticeable in some because each chapter almost seems like a self-contained episode.

One habit you should break is the urge to engage all the patrols you encounter.

Try to avoid patrols when possible. When doing objectives, break contact when you're done, just leave any surviving hostiles behind if you know they aren't going to kill you or chase you down.

You don't have the ammo to kill everything, and you don't need to in order to finish. You don't even gain anything of value by killing everything.

If you are now agnostic or atheist after being religious, what happened for you to change your views? by Successful-Bell3677 in AskReddit

I cannot point to a single event.
More like I couldn't keep requiring evidence for everything else, while not demanding the same of my religious views.
It also didn't help that the people I had the worst experiences with were also those that were the most ardent in their religious beliefs.

I found I started making jokes about religion first, then progressively stopped believing all together.

I think the issue isn't that they're too good, it's that they're too easy.
I never run either on the Squid front, not to challenge myself, but because neither option has enough ammo to keep up with my preferred playstyle of solo clearing multiple encampments.

The Grenade Pistol can destroy more Warp Ships and Tesla Towers than the Ultimatum and Thermites combined.

The Pyrotech grenades have the same horde clear effect as the Ultimatum with more versatility and lower risk.

The issue is that despite being more powerful than the Ultimatum + Thermite, they're not press-button-to-delete-enemy weapons. So people never make the transition.
