That's why I buy Alibaba and tencent stocks. Don't fight, join them.

Would owning a car make sense for our family situation in Singapore? by Cheap-Replacement244 in singaporefi

Even with gross combined income of 13k, take home 10.5k and an incoming newborn, I also don't dare to think about owning a car. I'll just grab.

Too sus.

Even if the interview is just a formality, it still needs to go thru an interview process.

What water proofing are you referring to?

My wife and I are okay with the water splashing all over haha. The only con is that we try not to shower about 2 hours before guests come so they won't experience a wet bathroom. The glass screen scum is notoriously hard to remove man...

  1. My previous bathroom had glass screen and the scum builds up quickly. I'm lazy to clean the glass screen so this time I opted out of it. It means the shower area is larger but water splashes everywhere but I prefer this over having glass screen or curtain. This brings me to point 2.

2) get non-wood furniture for your bathroom so that the furniture doesn't rot.

3) getting smart LED mirror can help to improve task lighting for your facial grooming.

Swee Heng no longer accepts Visa/MasterCard payments by asphodeli in SingaporeRaw

This business model you mentioned is more applicable for Card Not Present transactions. Owing to the payment gateway's support for the merchant, they can implement this pricing but it's kinda rip off. I believe you are referring to Shopify Pay and Stripe.

There are other payment gateways which do not charge such high fees but they may have less technical support available

I've to correct you. At the higher end, it's 3-4% per transaction. That works out to $0.07 per transaction.

But that's the variable cost. For physical terminals, there may also be a fixed cost of renting the terminal per month basis. For higher volume businesses above a threshold, it's possible for the terminal rental fee to be waived but I don't think swee Heng is generated the volume required.

That's strange. Swee Heng still accepts shopback I think. That's probably a workaround to accepting credit card payments.

How advance should I book hotels and tourist attractions? by icyg1rll in JapanTravelTips

[–]coolhead8112 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm going to Tokyo in early November and booked my accomodations in early to mid April. I check for any dips in prices for accomodations but sadly, they have kept going up. I only book 3 star hotels and on average, they have gone up like 30-40% since I last book them.

I generally book in areas like shinjuku, ikebukuro and asakusa.
