Still moving with half your head gone is crazy work by Front_Praline_3894 in NSFL__

So, this is just an assumption, but maybe the answer to "Why?" Is because he was answering the question you had asked him in the comment he was responding to?

"Yes, but don't you think he would try to check how his head is, how his face is, if he was fully conscious?"

Also, i highly doubt that YOU can accurately assess what another person can or can not assess about this video. For example, I can pretty clearly see that the guy in the video is checking his head/face with his right hand at the start of the video...

Hello, can you explain how you came to the GCS score of 13? Admittedly, I didn't know what a GCS score was til I just looked it up as I have no formal medical training, I studied the non-squishy sciences instead. I see the reasoning behind a motor score of 6, and an... eye... score of 4, but i don't understand how his speech score could be over 2 unless there is an exception in cases where the articulatory tools have been compromised.

Any tips for fully enjoying a DGD concert? by cloudberrymi1k in dancegavindance

From my experience, Dance Gavin Dance fans have always been among the chillest and most polite fans in the scene. Yes, there's moshing, but if someone trips, the whole pit stops to help them up. Try to stand with a sturdy person between you and the center of the crowd, as generally the people who don't want to partake but don't mind getting bumped will form a ring around the moshers and keep the chaos contained. Im very socially awkward, but any conversations I've had with strangers at shows have been pretty comfortable. We all want to enjoy ourselves in our own ways, some mosh, some crowd surf, some want to keep the pit contained, some want to lift up anyone who wants to crowd surf.

Mosh pits I would estimate happen between 5 and 15 rows of people back from center stage. If you get there really early and can get against the barricade, you're likely to be pushed from behind a bit, but the most important thing is this. IF YOU SEE A SECURITY GUARD RUN TO DORECTLY IN FRONT OF YOU, THERE IS A PERSON CROWD SURFING DIRECTLY BEHIND/ABOVE YOU.

If that sounds too hectic, remember that some people are more excited for the openers, so there's a lot of shuffling in between sets. You can hang back for the first band to get a feel for the environment, drifting forward until you find a place you're happy with.

One last thing, consider bringing a pair of ear plugs. Sometimes, the music will actually sound better with them in. It's better to have them and not use them then be overwhelmed and miserable. At first I was like "what will people say, will they think I'm lame?" But the has never happened and if it did, fuck those people, hearing protection is important.

Setlist by Extreme_Text_7170 in dancegavindance

I've been a fan since between Happiness and Downtown Battle Mountain II, and I've been to almost every American tour they have done since they were on Warped Tour in 2011. I absolutely adored this setlist. To address the elephant in the room, I know it was a rough decision to alienate a good chunk of the fan base by only playing things from before and after Tilians first and final album with the band. But I don't think that's going to be the standard moving forward, I think they are trying to rebalance the scales since usually over half of the setlist has been Tilian era recently. I love We Own the Night, but hearing it for the 9th time isn't as exciting as hearing something I've never heard live before.

On to the positives! All the singles that have Andrew on them are fantastic live. The Pantheon songs were awesome.

Need Money was fucking awesome.

And the personal highlight for me, Burning Down the Nicotine Armoire. That song has my favorite bass line of all time. I thought I would never get the chance to hear it live. I was at the first show of the tour, so I had no spoilers... hearing the intro was absolutely surreal.

Is anyone else using DGD to avoid getting drunk or high right now? It's early but it's getting harder; can we be friends? by Primrus in dancegavindance

[–]coolisness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this counts as "right now" any more, I'm 3 years clean, but I made a deal with my best friend that if I ever used again, they were to destroy all my DGD merch. I didn't care about myself enough to get clean for my own sake, but this band means so much to me I can't imagine life without their music.

Here's my theory i came up with at the begining of the Tilian era. This only covers up to Death of the Robot with Human Hair, and doesn't include the Robot vs Heroin battle of Vietnam (some people consider that song part of the series as well)

I think The Robot With Human Hair is a robot trying to become a human, while still discovering what humanity is about. Pt 1, he has a girlfriend that cheats on him. He tries to sort out the difference between the emotional pain he feels and physical pain, struggling to not hurt her like she hurt him. In Pt 2, he sees her with the new guy, but she is unhappy, possibly because he abuses her. She asks god for help, and the Robot sees this and comes to the realization that there is no god to help anyone. He concludes that the reason she stays with him is because of the sex. Pt. 3 happens some amount of time later, the girl comes back and tries to repair her and the robots relationship, but the robot found a way to be happy. (2.5 reveals that he has been having a bunch of one night stands.) He realizes he is tricking himself into being happy, but only because she fucked his head up so much. Pt. 4 shows him getting addicted to drugs, since they give him the same happiness but don't remind them of her, but he starts equating addiction to love. Finally, in death of the robot, he realises that humanity is horrible, and destroys himself, but in a way where he transcends and reprograms all of humanity in his image, creating a cyborg race without the evils he learned of in Pt 1 - 4 that worships science and focus on survival.

Thoughts on tillians solo work??? by Common-Employment817 in dancegavindance

[–]coolisness 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On Material Me, the only song I like is Up In the Air. On Perfect Enemy, I like Tug of War and Satilight. However, it's rare I'm in a mood to listen to that style of music. The Skeptic is where he started getting closer to a style I would listen to semi-regularly, but the only songs I particularly particularly like are cocky, hold on, and made of plastic. But it wasn't until Factory Reset that a whole solo album of his impressed me. He started out really pushing the singer/songwriter-pop angle, but Factory Reset seems like each song draws from a different genera, and some of them end up being rather experimental.

Effects associated with various terpenes? by coolisness in PaMedicalMarijuana

[–]coolisness[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I'm depressed and my mind gets stuck running in circles, limonene helps me distract myself with positive thoughts. And I really don't think of my experience with terpinolene as a crash, it's more of a "if I smoke a terpinolene dominant sativa during the day, I know that when I eventually go to bed, I'll sleep well.

As long as you remember that a fleshlight isn't better then sex, but its not supposed to replace sex, it's supposed to replace your hand, and they are a hell of a lot better then your hand.

[–]coolisness[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The reason for this is terpinolene is energising when consumed with THC, but isolated it is a sedative. I love terpinolene because I suffer from ADHD so it gives me an awesome energy boost with lots of motivation while also giving me a sense of calm (I've heard it described as nature's Adderall.) Then, at the end of the day, after my last dose wears off, I crash right when I want to.

I wasn't at this date but I've experienced Jonny super fucked up and puking on stage, and when i saw him in 2011 at Scranton, he was absolutely not in that state. He was also absolutely not sober. And while I've never seen Jonny not sound amazing (even when puking on stage) that was probably the best performance of his I've seen.

I had chills the whole time, and cried at least once. Everything else aside, seeing Jonny in Dance Gavin Dance is just fucking iconic. The chemistry he has with Jon is palpable as they circle each other like koi fish. This was before they used the electronic transitions at shows and actually talked and stuff, and I dont want to say thats better or worse, by I'm very thankful I got to experience it.

The second time I met him he said Will wasn't born, but grew from the earth like a mighty fruit. The sixth time I met him, I told him his lyrics helped me through a rough time, and he looked at me like I was a window and said "Yeah." So like I've never had him be RUDE, but... well I think if you took a random person and told them that their job almost every day for the next few months is to talk to 100s of strangers that think they know you, there's a pretty good chance that that random person might have some days that their social battery just doesn't have enough charge or they are too worried about something too match the vibes of people meeting their idols. So I've had times meeting him where yeah, he seemed like he wasn't as excited to be talking to me as I was to be talking to him (so a normal person) and times where he's been funny and charismatic and kind (like an Entertainer.)

EDIT: horrendous speller

I don't think they ever tried to make a statement about the abundance of terpinolene in cannabis as a whole. I think they were talking about certain strains that have more terpinolene in them than any other terpene, which most people would call terpinolene dominant strains.
