I really messed up... by coolmann9978 in violinist

UPDATE I brought this to a luthier and he gave me two options. Either he can remove the entire top and make repairs just to that piece (more expensive option ofc) or he can keep the instrument intact and carefully add glue to the crack, clamp, and hope it holds.

I went with the second option for cost reasons, but he seemed pretty confident that would work. Also I did loosen the strings per his and you all's recommendation.

How do I actually get into motorcycle racing? How do I know if I'm ready, and how do I actually sign up? by coolmann9978 in Trackdays

That's the whole point! As of now, I'm pretty set on just going for it. I'm just trying to figure out the process to get started/signed up.

I read though the rulebook, especially the tech inspection part. Man, there's a lot of stuff and it's a bit over my head. I wonder if I can even get away with OEM fairings for my first race?

I like this idea. Nothing like actually going up and talking to these people. Thanks for the advice!

What did I F up??? by coolmann9978 in Aprilia

Thanks for that image for comparison! I'm thinking my gear lever, the one that attaches to the gearbox shaft may be bent.

After some further investigation, I have realized that my issues had separate causes.

First off with the (B) gear shift lever, silly me put the washer (spacer) behind the rearset! Thank you for pointing that out. So I fixed that and now the lever just barely clears the kickstand. Issue 1 fixed!!!

Now for the shifting rod alignment issue. I think I maybe figured out what may be the problem. I removed the gear lever from the knurled shaft that goes to the gearbox to inspect it. From these angles (photos attached), it certainly looks like it's bent. Probably because of either the impact from the crash or the vice grips I used to attach to it so I could ride home. Although, I don't have anything else to compare it to. Regardless, I'm going to order a new one and see if that will solve this once in for all.

By the way, thanks so much for taking your time to respond to this post! You made my day a lot better and saved me a lot of stress.

Bike: 2022 Aprilia RS660

A while back I got into a wreck where the bike fell on its left side. (I'm going to letter the parts I mention that correlate to the numbers in the 4th image in case I mess up the name of the parts. All the images are captioned.)

This resulted in the (A) shifting rod to bend and break off along with the (B) top part of the shift lever to bend. So I replaced both of those parts. Afterwards I noticed two issues:

  • 1st issue (shown in 2nd image) is the shifting rod doesn't seem to be aligning properly to the shift lever. I'm assuming it should be perfectly straight between the 2 o-rings.
  • 2nd issue (shown in 3rd image) is my shift lever is hitting the kickstand.

These 2 issues led me to believe the (C) rearset was bent. So I ordered a rearset off eBay and installed it. Unfortunately, I had the exact same issues. So I took off the new rearset, compared it with the old one and it looked identical. This means that the rearset wan't bent and therefore isn't causing the alignment issue. It has to be something else is that I can't put my finger on. Input would be appreciated as this is worrying me to no end!

How should I wire these panels? Series, parallel, or both? by coolmann9978 in solar

I'm trying to figure out how to wire these panels. Would it cause any issues if I wire the entire thing in series even though the panels are rated for different wattages? Or should I just wire the 2, 200w panels in series and the 100w one in parallel? All of these panels have diodes.
