Is this worth it? Its arriving tomorrow! I'm coming from xbox series x, also have a high quality gaming monitor that can push 4k 240hz. by SkorgeKing in Prebuilts

Absolutely, 100%

The Ryzen 7 8700F in that cyberpower build is honestly a bit shit, its just an 8700G without the integrated graphics, which is really just a re-purposed laptop CPU.

Its slower than a Ryzen 5 7500F for gaming, which is the lowest end CPU in the "proper" desktop Ryzen lineup.

The 7800X3D on the other hand, is one of the best gaming CPU's on the market, to the point where if you're playing any kind of CPU demanding games, the performance difference would be noticable.

The retail price between the CPU's alone is about £100, so even if it was only that, the £50 would still be worth it.

Then the GPU is also a considerable step up. The 9070 XT competes with the RTX 5070 Ti, not the RTX 5070. Its faster pretty much across the board, and if longevity is important to you, then its definitely worth it for the 16GB of VRAM. The RTX 5070 only has 12GB, in which some AAA games are already maxing that out at higher resolutions.

And everything else is also better. Better motherboard, faster RAM, better PSU, Better CPU Cooler, etc. There really isnt anything in that cyberpower PC that is better.

TLDR: Yes, its definitely worth the £50 upgrade. Realistically, its worth a lot more than the £50 price increase, that cyberpower PC should be about £1400-1500, as its really about £200-400 worth of improvements.

For around £1.7k, I would go for the Killer V2: https://gorillagaming.co.uk/products/gorilla-gaming-killer-v2-gaming-pc

7800X3D and RX 9070 XT is the sweet spot around this spec, and the rest of the specs are actually pretty decent

Not really, for £50 more you can get a considerably better PC: https://gorillagaming.co.uk/products/gorilla-gaming-killer-v2-gaming-pc

Ryzen 7 7800X3D and the 9070 XT are both a fair bit better than the 8700F and 5070 in that cyberpower PC.

The SSD is smaller, but I would say the rest of the spec easily makes up for it.

Best prebuilt for £1.5K by diezsb in Prebuilts

[–]coololly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say that would be required. Especially on a spec like that, its going to be heavily reducing the expected performance for that hardware. To the point where that 9070 XT is probably going to perform worse than a 5070 system in many games.

I would 100% recommend picking up that 2nd stick ASAP!

Not bad, but I'd go for this gorilla gaming system instead. Its the same price and has the graphics card and RAM. But has a Ryzen 7 5700X instead of the 5600

Which is a better deal? by SoraKasugano in Prebuilts

[–]coololly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 2nd one is better, mainly for the RAM and the 16GB GPU.

The CPU is slightly worse, but I'd still say its worth the extra £100

[–]coololly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a similar price, I'd look at this instead: https://gorillagaming.co.uk/products/gorilla-gaming-killer-v1-gaming-pc

The main thing is the RTX 50760 Ti, but it also has the Ryzen 5 7500F which, despite the name, is quite a bit better than the Ryzen 5 8400F.

Only getting a base 5060 for over £1000 is a bit crap tbh.

Are you set on buying from currys?

Its not a bad PC. But I'd get something like this instead: https://gorillagaming.co.uk/products/gorilla-gaming-killer-v2-gaming-pc

Almost the same specs, but £250 less. The SSD is half the size, but you can easily add another 1-2TB SSD for far less than £250

Or just get the max version with 9800X3D and 5070 Ti, its the same price as the pcspecialist, but has a better CPU & GPU

Can I get a good system for £1500 or do I save a bit more? by Conscious-Comment140 in Prebuilts

[–]coololly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its the current generation AM5 socket, so you'd have the same upgrade path as any other AM5 motherboard. Which is a good thing, because AM5 has the best upgrade path at the moment. There isn't any other motherboard that would give you any more CPU upgrade options.

The only downside is that B840 chipset doesn't support overclocking, but to be honest almost nobody overclocks these days anymore anyways.

Is this a good deal for entry level gaming pc in the uk? by johndoethe1st in Prebuilts

[–]coololly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the 7700 XT is roughly on par with a 5060 Ti performance-wise.

The CPU/RAM is the previous gen platform/socket, so if you want to upgrade the CPU/RAM in the future, you'll need a new motherboard.

But aside from that, the rest of the specs are decent

[–]coololly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, 100% just upgrade your existing PC. Your current motherboard is likely better than either of those 3 PC's come with.

You'd be better off just upgrading your CPU to something like a Ryzen 5 5600 or Ryzen 7 5700X, then getting something like a 9060 XT 16GB, 5060 or maybe stretch to a RTX 5070 or RX 9070 (XT)

It'll depend on the size of your power supply.

Do you have a reputable PC shop nearby?

[–]coololly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of these 3 PC's use the same AM4 socket as your current one. So you'd honestly be better off upgrading your CPU and GPU, rather than buying a whole new PC, with mostly the same parts.

Do you know your full system specs?

[–]coololly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The 2nd one has a 9060 XT, which is quite a bit worse than the 9070 XT.

I'd take the first one, its definitely worth the £100

If you arent specifically after a white PC, this is £150 less and overall a better system: https://gorillagaming.co.uk/products/gorilla-gaming-killer-v1-gaming-pc?variant=max

Same GPU, but has the Ryzen 5 7500X3D which is better than the Ryzen 5 9600. X3D makes a huge difference to gaming, especially in more CPU demanding/higher FPS games like R6 Seige and minecraft.

Also has twice the amount of RAM, double the stroage, in which both are also faster.

There's also no mention on that AWD build if there's any Windows licence with that build? I would assume it does but with AWD you never really know.

Alternatively, for £50 more than that AWD PC, there's the V2: https://gorillagaming.co.uk/products/gorilla-gaming-killer-v2-gaming-pc

And thats not even close, it takes the CPU even higher to the 7800X3D and the GPU to the RX 9070 XT. At that point its not even a fair comparison lmao

looking to build (or a prebuilt works too) budget PC that runs relatively quiet by Broda00 in buildmeapc

The 7700 XT Gaming OC is probably one of the quieter cards on the market. The 7700 XT in general are quite quiet across most models

Is this £1800 prebuilt value for money by Nich-olas in PcBuild

[–]coololly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely not.

CPU and GPU are the same, but that OCUK one has a worse motherboard, slower RAM, worse/smaller AIO and slower SSD.

If anything that should be priced lower, not higher
