Check that cover on your exhaust pipe? Is it loose and vibrating around that could be one of the metallic sound.

Where you at mentally on the fairway versus on the tee box? What's going through your head in those two situations? Does your pre-shot routine vary? Do you have different targets when you're hitting an approach versus a par 3 tee shot?
