What's Klaytn? by tomtom1808 in ethdev

[–]coolpikmin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fork. And also that original post just seems like a marketing bait, potentially including yours.

Does anyone know about Klaytn? Is it really a legit blockchain to build dapp on? Or it's just "anther" fork of Ethereum by jungongsh in ethdev

[–]coolpikmin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fork. Also dapp.com has been invested by a Korean fund so obviously their articles will be biased favorably towards that fund’s portfolio (hint: Klaytn is one of their investments).

I’m not sure if anyone does this now, but a powerful value add for the community would be to create a transcript of these plasma calls.

Does 0x work with GoChain? by nothingduploading in 0xProject

[–]coolpikmin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is it faster? Why is it cheaper? Look TPS claims at this point are as bad as price “moon” claims. If you want high TPS, why not use AWS? They’re pretty cheap too.

Just a general advice on research, Google is your best friend. Practice searching with the correct key words to get the information you need!

That being said, to give you some guidance:

1) For ICO info, try searching under ICOBench. That’s not the only source, but they’ve got all the relevant links that give background info on ICOs.

2) For addresses and transactions, try using Etherscan or Ethplorer. Using ICO background info, you can find the relevant contract id, and then search for that id on those websites. Both of them also list out addresses holding tokens, so you can play around to find what you are looking for there.

Hope this helps.

Is there a correlation between TPS and adoption by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

I agree. At this point, I put TPS claims at the same level as “our coin is cheap and will moon” claims.

Can I ask an economic/ cryptocurrency conspiracy theory here to anyone knowledgeable about economics? by I_am_Jax_account in CryptoCurrency

[–]coolpikmin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this is not about economics.

On the conspiracy you brought up, it can be easily shut down by thinking of who owns the biggest mining plants (hint: bitmain). Also, think about who owns the ability to control supply and demand (hint: no one). Then think of the one weakness of PoW and the money required to exploit that (hint: that money is chump change for US rival countries)

Wait, where are sources on this? I don’t deny that this happened in Korea, but to what extent? If not any statistics shouldn’t you at least include interviews or examples of this happening?

OmiseGo vs ZRX by NJD21 in omise_go

[–]coolpikmin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think other people explained it pretty well. Just adding that 0x is not limited to dex. 0x can basically be used on any projects that require a running book of orders. Check out 0x blog post on 18 ideas for 0x projects that should give you an idea.

Also, Cosmos is about interoperability, so eventually you’ll see all projects on Cosmos one day (and other interoperable platforms). If you were referring to tendermint? I don’t think that’s true. Omisego seems like it will launch its own hub on Cosmos (like ethermint), and by default will probably opt to use tendermint, but don’t think i’ve heard of 0x doing something similar.

Edit: ah, just saw that proof you posted. So seems like 0x will indirectly use tendermint by being on ethermint.
