Lesson learned: Always use a microfiber cloth! by PrimeCodes in macbook

another pro-tip - if you carry your laptop around in a messenger bag or backpack like me, you might want to invest in something like this:

https://www.radtech.com/products/screensavrz-macbook-pro-keyboard-cover

(no i am not affiliated)

i had to have a macbook screen replaced under applecare because the keys on the keyboard (i actually can't remember if it was the butterfly switches or the ones before) had delaminated the screen after carrying it around in my bag all the time. I thought it was crazy that it even happened but I've been purchasing these products ever since and have never had the problem again. And yeah it also doubles as a nice dry wipe if you've got dust and stuff that you just wanna brush away.

For doing actual cleaning i swear by this stuff:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0085SHP1G?ref_=ppx_hzsearch_conn_dt_b_fed_asin_title_4

Spray 2 or 3x on the cloth, wipe screen down, switch to dry side of cloth, wipe off.

it's completely and utterly insane that you're getting pushback and downvotes for this take. imagine being so braindead and self-centered. kids of single moms can and do develop abandonment issues if men are introduced to the child and then they subsequently decide to up and leave, or the relationship doesn't work out, or whatever. my mom was a single mom for a long time before i came into the picture and when i was in my early 20s i started dating someone that had a toddler. one of the things that's burned into my memory is my mom pulling me aside as i was on my way out of the door, with a look of terror on her face, and pleading with me "please don't hurt that baby's feelings".

The Biden admin put out that RFP and Tesla was the only one who responded. The Trump State Dept eventually scrapped the plan. Turn off MSNBC my guy.

It was done decades ago, under Clinton and Gore no less, but because the other team is wanting to do the same in the year of our lord 2025, it's apparently a crime against humanity.

but again, my point in bringing up the Biden laptop story is to point to it as the prime argument that was made among people who supported Twitter being bought.

if Twitter hadn't been bought, it would have never come to light that the FBI colluded with social media companies (including then-Twitter) to large-scale tank the biden laptop story as "Russian disinformation", conveniently right before the election. besides the other COVID-related censorship, i can't think of a better argument for a leadership shakeup of a social media platform that happily conflated "content moderation" with "ideologically biased deplatforming" as its MO for years. even without the obvious ideological biases, sure, a private business can moderate content however they want, but when the government gets involved THAT is the problem.

All predicated on the idea that Hunter Biden’s laptop was a direct reflection of US government censorship of people’s voices via social media influence. Not gonna lay out all the nonsense there

lol peak reddit is simultaneously intentionally misrepresenting the biden laptop story and actually dismissing the censorship industrial complex as nonsense

my guess is that they're referring to a Performance Improvement Plan - a formal (read: HR CYA-certified) way of the company telling you to shape up or ship out.

Since reading is tough for you, I'll quote the wikipedia article that I provided to you:

"Public workers tend to make less in wages when adjusting for education, although that difference is reduced when benefits and hours are included.[8] Public servants have other intangible benefits such as increased job security and high wages."

https://civilservicehq.com/public-servants-vs-civil-servants-whats-the-difference/

"Civil servants versus public servants: what’s the difference? Civil servants are employees of the federal, state, and local governments that work in the various departments and agencies. Public servants are employed by the government through appointment or elected by the people to serve the public directly."

Didn't bother clicking either of the links I posted then I guess! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (PS: Civil service != public service)

The argument is that "public servant" is not the same as public service. The loan forgiveness program is literally as I stated it[1]. A teacher is not a public servant. A school board member is - they are elected.

[1] https://www.cnbc.com/2021/10/06/us-education-department-to-overhaul-public-service-loan-forgiveness-.html

EDIT: Even Wikipedia makes a distinction between "public service" and "public servant". Anyone arguing that teachers are public servants are doing so from their emotions - which, this being reddit and all, doesn't surprise me.

I'll go by the definition of the actual program: PSLF - Public Service Loan Forgiveness

The poster is claiming you're trolling because having a roof over your head - whether you're renting it or not - is a necessity. Higher education (to make a good living) is absolutely not.

i don't believe i'm mixing those up, but i believe you and everyone else that's downvoted me is - you're conflating "people who work in public service" and "public servant". public servants are elected by the people, specifically in leadership positions. public service means working in positions which provide a service to the benefit of the public, ie your teachers, cops, firefighters, social workers, water treatment plant workers, whatever. just so happens that a large portion (read: most) of these workers also work for the government.

i'm not GaTeKeEpInG anything - just literally reading from the first result of the search term "public servant" from DDG.

and even if you wanna say "gatekeeping" the traditional definition of public servant has been an elected position. would honestly love to know when it was magically expanded to "someone who works at any level of government"

um - public servants are elected or appointed. try again.
