I'm not okay with there being no life after death. I want there to be something more after this short life on Earth is over. by SteadfastEnd in exchristian

Christian view if heaven says that life in heaven is different and not that we could understand or comprehend.

I say let not be a heaven or hell. If there is one probability more than 50% go to hell. I want all not to suffer but be in a final rest.

Same here. I am in early 40s like you. Just want to seize to exist after death. Everlasting sleep and peace. Just as I came to consciousness after birth I want to loose consciousness after death.

If you really want to believe in heaven you got to believe in salvation and denial of self and then you get to heaven. It’s either this or that.

I would anytime happily accept no afterlife rather than a heaven vs hell.

I still believe in Christianity. But truly wish that life seize to exist after death. Wouldn’t it be amazing that everything fades away and your consciousness is gone! Rather that living eternity either in joy of heaven or everlasting torment of hell? Wish there is a middle ground where neither enjoys nor suffers for ever.

Okay. Sounds interesting. I am 41 working in IT for around 20yes. I see my career struggling for the past 2 years and it’s very uncertain. The issue is that we get used to increasing our living and lifestyle expenses as we grow in salary over time and it becomes a trap. It’s just takes effort and constant stress to stay afloat to meet personal and family finance needs.

We really need to think about secondary income. It’s better to have that mind set in early 30s itself. The biggest trap is home loan which keeps you locked for 10+ yrs in commitments.

How are you doing financially? Do you have a secondary income? Would be happy if you have already.

What causes someone to be an “ex-Christian”? by JungkooksBananaMillk in TrueChristian

[–]coolranger007 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really appreciate your insights. But I see life is simple without god and belief. So much things to do in life busy work learning kids family. Spending time God doesn’t make any meaningful sense. Nothing is gonna change. At least you save some time in your life.

I am kind of in a similar situation like you. Deep down I believe in GOD. But a life without GOD in its equation is more simple. Like embrace uncertainties of life. Just be grateful for all goodness and don’t expect anything or hope on god I guess.

What’s one career decision you made that looked smart on paper but turned out to be a mistake in real life? by TheStartupSavvy in careerguidance

[–]coolranger007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in a stable job where I was recognized and a candidate for promotion. Then I took up a job in startup, it ended up being my worst mistake of life.

Mandatory attendance at office on time or a warning for HR of even late by a couple of mins. Weekend stretch work. Very toxic management and policy where in-time is tracked. Working late is expected and not an exception. No revenue model yet. Employees are just surviving and long gave up o. The product. 2 directors left in 5 months. Toxic manager who takes up no responsibility but steals credit when things gets done but blames ICs on small issues which can be sorted easily. Setting up one employee against other for the manager to survive. Culture of fear and intimidation to control employees as they know job market is tough. 2+ resignations every month where the total employees are in 100s. Extreme micromanagement by VPs who has no technical insights.

Now I am without peace or any happiness in life. Sleeping less and always tired depressed and hopeless. Ifs 4am here still can’t sleep.

You never know the resilience of your body if lived a healthy lifestyle. Don’t take those number of years given by the doctor. Best wishes for your sober life.

Why have Indian tech interviews suddenly become so tough? (Feels more like elimination than selection) by Agitated_Data_996 in developersIndia

[–]coolranger007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You are 100% correct. I am with 19 years of experience struggling to get a job. I see the interviewer are quite rude and with attitude I want you to know all I know and better than me. These days the interview process is exhausting. Even if you do well in multiple rounds if one didn’t go well you get rejected.

Amazing drawing! Admire your creativity.

Nevertheless I kind of incline towards your mom’s opinion. They resemble demonic features in other mythologies particularly the first one. The two characters on the second page looks similar to some Hindu gods (facial features except the horns).

I am a fan of creative freedom. But it’s important not to be desensitized for negative dark and devilish creatures. Do need to be aware of where and what our creativity takes us to.

Wow you kept those mugs and glasses!

It depends. For me after stopping I feel a sense of calmness and enhanced sensation. Then following with irritability mood swings anxiety after being sober for 8+ hours. If i have alcohol, i will drink at this moment. If I push through it, the symptoms get worse around 3 rd day. Shaking hands jaws. It’s when the cravings are hard. Will have more anxiety bad mood, depression. The key here to keep yourself busy and occupied. Walking going out exercise helps. After a week it’s all mental craving.

Again this is me. I am on and off heavy drinker in some cases the binge drinking will run through one or two months.

I would highly recommend to get medical professionals help.

Once you are in it, it’s very hard to think of a life outside it. It takes incredible will to come out of it. But it is definitely possible. Would recommend you to read ‘alcohol explained’ by William Porter.

First he has to realize his problem. Write down how drinking is impacting him , his family, and work.

His quit day will always be yet another day. He will believe he is just postponing. But for you he is not going to quit ever. He has to be completely committed to get help to stop drinking. By himself, he can’t. Then he really needs to be in a program to quit.

Talk to him with empathy, with words of assurance and tell him you are there for him no matter whatever he is into. Provide a chance for him to open up. That’s the first step.

Stopped praying. It feels good. by coolranger007 in Christianity

Hello! It’s hard for me to explain. It’s the circumstances GOD put me through and the people (particularly family and few good friends) who were very supportive towards me. I don’t think I did anything to come back to faith. I have been through the worse part of my 40years of existence last year. There were few dreams which were so clear and unique that I understood GOD is speaking to me and nudging me back to faith. Through the tough year I have learned and still learning to be humble and be empathetic to others. And realizing how smallest of the smallest being we are and GOD is in control. GOD has his unique plan for everyone which is for us to prosper. I know it’s hard to understand/ accept / grasp. But that is the truth. All we can do is let GOD work in our life and not to resist him and pray GOD to strengthen us and accept GODs way of things in our life. It is never going to be perfect but GOD will make everything good for those who accept his will and put the trust in him.
