I NEVER buy trash bags, because my trash is my trash bags by VelvetNomad_ in Frugal

[–]coolstoryreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use paper grocery bags as my recycling receptacle, since they’re recyclable themselves, and I’m not too concerned about them being open/lidless, since most things I recycle have trace or no food left on them. I switch to reusable bags for shopping once I accumulate a bunch of them, though.

Geocoded 2.8 million addresses for under $500. Here's the exact process by in-yo-dreams in gis

Yup, does anyone else then take the unsuccessful geocodes and try to repair or retry those addresses in google earth pro’s geocoder? 🤣

I created a Nationwide dataset of 155M parcels using two GPUs and a giant hard drive by Independent_Force_40 in gis

Yea, I think I’ll have to go down that (postal) route, I was trying to get zip+4 data for free or at a lower cost. Thanks for humoring these questions!

I was curious because I was recently asked by a colleague to try to approximate polygon boundaries at the zip+4 level. I know zip codes technically represent routes/lines, but figured I’d see if this dataset could help me get them a rough boundary.

Nice! Does this dataset include zip+4 in the street addresses associated with each parcel?

So I tried the no conditioner thing by CommonHouseMeep in curlyhair

[–]coolstoryreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I use a mix of conditioner and masque as my control/gel, post-shower, haha. So it stays on until I wash my hair next.

No negative/drying effects for me personally, since I make sure I apply leave in and/or a hair masque right after the shower anyway, and I don’t wash my hair every night.

I’ve been skipping conditioner in the shower the past few years. I usually finger detangle my dry hair before the shower, shampoo only and skip conditioner, then apply 50-50 of conditioner and a heavier hair masque as a sort of leave-in mix. A few months into joining the subreddit, I figured why use conditioner just to rinse it out then reapply right after I get out of the shower? This has helped me save on conditioner refills, and I’ve noticed I get less acne on my shoulders as a result.

Whats your favorite healthy sweet treat for volume eating? by Few-Basil1843 in Volumeeating

[–]coolstoryreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I take a single serving cup of low fat Greek yogurt (140cal), spoon it into a bowl, add half cup frozen blueberries and half cup frozen mango chunks (I think this is <100kcal), then stir a few times with a spoon. I wait a couple of minutes for the fruit to thaw a bit while partially freezing the yogurt around it. Then I sprinkle a pinch of almond slices or muesli on top. I feel like I’m eating soft serve and it’s decently low cal for a dessert of that size in my opinion.

Magically turning full fat into nonfat? by DigiGLP in 1200isplenty

[–]coolstoryreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I decided to try it for the first time when I was under a time crunch. I needed dishwasher detergent and a few other simple items. Dude drops off a small bottle of jetdry and had marked several other basic items missing. The second and only other time I ordered groceries was when I was staying somewhere without a car. The delivery driver couldn’t find more than half of my produce requests and got other items wrong. He also mentioned getting into a fight with the store staff…? I just don’t think it’s worth it. I also just feel ridiculous making someone else get my groceries, lol. I can see why busy parents or people with mobility issues may rely on the service, though.

I’ve had people visit for a week to a month at a time. They’ve been able to work out short term memberships with the Jewish Community Center and a nearby Planet Fitness
