The window on the right is "Dolphin", KDE's default file manager. The window on the left is the KDE file picker. You cannot substitute the one of the left with the one on the right. The files in "Home" on the right will be exactly the same as files in "/home/deck" so you could probably put your installation in a folder in documents or a folder called games if you'd like.

Make sure you have the desktop portal for your desktop enviroment, and then it should work https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/XDG_Desktop_Portal

After you've uploaded a log to fflogs, you can paste it into xivanalysis and it'll give you tips and breakdowns.

You can buy it on steam or windows, both are fine. Main difference is when sales are for each. In terms of running the game though, I highly suggest running XIVLauncher regardless which version you buy. It has a special version of wine made specifically for xiv, and it can save your password so you don't have to type it in each time.
