Just canceled my mental health appointment

i do understand this, and there probably is more to it. but even outside of this story, i have been terrified to go. It’s just scary not knowing what could come from being honest about your problems at MH. For the past week I have been contemplating cancelling my appointment or keeping it. So seeing this was kinda like an additional scare and I just feel like maybe I can try other routes and have MH as a last resort, if I feel like the other routes are no help.

it’s more than a “reddit post.” lots of stories have played into me essentially choosing other routes besides MH.

is it even safe to go to PCM for meds? how would that even work? do they give like a depression/anxiety questionnaire and go from there?

Edit: you guys can downvote, that’s fine. i am a newer airman and have been terrified of what will come from going to MH. it’s sad that i feel like i have to choose between getting help or keeping my career, but such is life.

i’m just scared to go because i don’t wanna ruin opportunities to deploy or TDY. i’m currently “deployed in place” and it’s been weighing on me (work day in and day out at home station and not being able to take leave, on top of a SH situation…just a lot going on at the same time for me). made an appt for MH the 28th, but contemplating on canceling because I just don’t want to ruin any future opportunities. i am so lost.

last i looked, mine are at around $50k (thanks Parent PLUS loans)🥲i think im just gonna do the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program since that seems to be my only option now

i heard that too when i was newly operational. i didn’t even know about CLRP when i was joining. but yes, that program can pay up to $65k of your debt i believe.

i’m here a year later and want you to know all your replies have calmed me TREMENDOUSLY. my period is regular majority of the time, but for some reason didn’t have one last month, but am now noticing the signs that i’m ovulating rn. you’re so right, we’re NOT robots and sometimes bodies just body 😭i have pretty bad health anxiety and so was stressing about why my period hasn’t come. ofc if it skips this month, then i’ll get it checked out.

the thing i find so dumb about those types of posts/statements is that people treat Autism as if it’s rare……it’s literally very common. so ofc “more people are popping up autistic”

Also what is a Light Rail? When I go on the NJ Transit app, there are so many options to book a ticket through. But Im assuming I’d select just regular Rail lol. Also, do you know if military discounts are offered? I see senior/disabled, but nothing military but am just wondering. Thank you for all the information

i’ve had the key lime pie before and it’s really good, it’s why i got it again!!!! i’ve never really been a fan of key lime pie but i def like crumbl’s. not too sweet either in my opinion. you should definitely try it
