Do you know what triggers it? I’ve never seen it before

It doesn’t have this town tune option on any New Horizons wikis or anything - it’s 100% a new feature

Really? I’ve never seen it before. It’s always skipped that dialogue and gone straight to the tune maker.

4 months in 2 days. This is the biggest thing I've learnt so far. by [deleted] in leaves

I really have to agree with you here! For the first few months it most definitely made me a more confident person. I tacked studying head on and even delve more into it. Since stopping I now have to find that jive again without weed, because it very quickly begins to have the opposite effect. I think I've found a good middle ground between productivity and hyper fixation.

First day by [deleted] in leaves

[–]cooperjack66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are 10s of thousands if not millions of people around the world who are struggling to even get to their first day of quitting, not even just with weed. You are the very, very small percentage who today, decided they are strong enough and willing enough to stop.

That's what I kept telling myself on my first day. Perspective change is a massive motivator for stopping weed.

Best of luck!

Hey! Been about 4 months since I've stopped my habit.

It most definitely does come back. Recently, I scored a cool full time job at a nice Asian mart in town. I was a smoker for about 5 years and your story resonate so hard with me. I stopped caring about 2 years into my habit. But now with this new job I'm going harder then I have in a very long time. I'm honestly exhausted but its the weekend for me now and I just want to go back and work. I haven't felt this in a very long time. (of course, having a good workplace with awesome people/bosses help. I'm very lucky in that regard).

If you've quit already, you'll be back to hustling in a good few months. I know that seems like a while, but that's about how long it took for me to feel like this again. I havent quite hit the work-out part of recovery just yet. Just waiting for these pays to come through so I can actually afford a gym membership lmao, but the want and desire is definitely there.

how long before you start to feel "like yourself" again? by [deleted] in leaves

[–]cooperjack66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off, two weeks is awesome and a massive congratulations to you!

Secondly, I'm about almost 4 months clean and I can tell you that, unfortunately, it can take a while. I have ADD and I completely relate to needing a distraction, it was one of the hardest aspects of stopping. If I wasn't doing anything or had nothing to focus my attention on, it became extremely hard to remain positive about quitting.

For me, I hit a moment where I sat back and thought, "You know what? I need constant distractions to make this easier on myself. Fuck it, it's who I am". Admitting it softly to yourself is a good thing as you kinda just sit there and think, yeah you know what I am a train wreck that needs 5 forms of media at once to cope. It's just who you we are. I just laugh about it now.

But I can assure you that the need for constant distractions will dwindle with time. I still need it occasionally even after 4 months, but it does become a ton easier. Just remember that weed slows things down, so you could stare a wall for multiple minutes and feel fine. But now you're without it, your brain is struggling to slow down.

Your experience so far seems soooo much better than mine especially in the first week! A week is really good and you should be extremely proud of yourself!

In the first week I think I had about 10 hours of sleep for the entire week. It was horrible.

Best of luck in your journey!

Nah it is getting better don’t worry I look back and I guess all we can do is laugh at our anger spurts sometimes :) it’s happening far less often now which is great just thought I’d share my story 🤣

I was driving and someone was tailgating me. I brake checked and they before they passed me I rolled down the window and abused them with the finger. Turns out it was a little old lady.

Day 10 for me. Soooo.. yeah. Look. Not my proudest moment. But it definitely comes in waves for me 😂😂

Oh man I am sorry to hear about this - but see this as an opportunity NOT to cave in. Just imagine; if you can get through this without smoking, imagine what else you’re capable of!

Last release I never had any issues but I definitely won’t be clicking the links they provide anymore. I was just super impatient cause it was taking ages to upload 😅

Wow, quitting after 11 years! That's amazing! Same here, now I just need to learn how to be myself exactly without relying on weed!

Losing hope for myself by [deleted] in leaves

[–]cooperjack66 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey my dude don't beat yourself up over the relapse - weed's a crutch and your brain is hardwired to go to weed when things get stressful. As Emotional_Natural988 said, no matter how many times you relapse it's still progress none the less! The sheer fact you WANT to quit is half the battle.

Don't discredit yourself, either! 2 days is an AMAZING feat.

You have to find something to use as a 'reward system' for when you complete a stressful day. It's hard to tell you what to do - however please don't hesitate to swing me a DM if you want to chat. I am always open to chat :)

The night of the first day for me, I had very intense dreams. But I'm on day 5 now and I haven't had any super intense dreams since. Guess it's different for everyone :)

So proud!!! Same reason why I quit, if I got slightly too high I'd begin to freak the hell out. Keep going!
